Panny GX-8, 4K Stills.

Impresive Dave, I bought a GX8 Wednesday last week, not tried it yet:tumbleweed: I know, but its me, I leave things in the box for days, even Christmas presents! There has not been any weather to encourage me, I'm still wating for some super fast SD cards to arive. Excuses, excuses, one of my othe interests is flying RC model aircraft, should be good with 4K . . . its going to happen soon???

I know owenb, I have to be in the right mood, have all the bits, nothing else pressing for my attention . . . not got all the bits, (waiting on SD card), I have a shed project that is demanding my attention, this keeps me out of the mood . . . frustrating aint it. But we will get there, the poor weather is not helping either.

See what the morning brings, if the SD cards arrive (7day shop can be slow?). My 'shed project' is to do with another interest, RC model aircraft, getting a new aircraft ready, planing a day on the flying field Thursday, if cards arrive, I will get my finger out! Perhaps in another life I was a three toed slothe . . . ?

I have a GX8, but have to really explore its 4K photo abilities. That aside, as a normal camera it is superb

That is pretty impressive. Good for the hybrid shooter to extract images from the video files.

Doubt it will happen soon. The broadcasters are waiting for UHD (4k + better colours, high framerate and high dynamic range + better sound). Manufacturers are wary.

I have a 4k tv but only use Netflix for 4k and amazon albeit very very occasionally I think once it is broadcast n 4k new tvs that do hdf and hdr will be out :-(

I guess it's just an extension of very high FPS in some ways, as you could say that takes the fun out of things as well. You've still got to be in the right place at the right time, the samples in that video are absolutely best case scenario.

I agree Chris. While I have only tried to use it once or twice and I've been reasonably pleased with my results, they weren't in the same league as the examples in that video.
