Probably one for the ladies...but nevermind...

Pandora bracelets - pretty....or pretty tacky?

I personally like them and Santa is bringing me one, but I like charms bracelets anyway and have quite a few.

However, part of me thinks they're becoming a little tacky, cause all the charvas are starting to wear those or links of london bracelets (usually fake, though some are pretty good fakes TBH).

Not keen meself (having Googled to find out what you were on about). I like beady bracelets and whatnot, but these seem a bit too fussy. I know I'm male, but I wear some neck beads, so I feel qualified to comment. :p

Glad to see you using the original Newcastle/Durham incarnation of the word "chav".

Sorry MM, but I voted "pretty tacky" . . . not my sort of thing at all.

But if you like them, then I hope Santa pays attention to your list :D
Each to their own and if you like them it really doesn't matter whether anyone else does or doesn't.

Now Santa, if you're listening and you have bracelets on your mind, this is what I'd like.

:( At that price, I don't think I'll be getting one though. (especially with all the other stuff already on my Christmas list)
At least with the Pandora bracelets you can build them up gradually. It doesn't seem so expensive when you buy just one piece at a time.

Wow! That's stunning!

And a price to match

Although I suppose you could easily spend that much on a Pandora bracelet by the time you'd completely filled it with beads. Especially if you went for the gold.

As I said though, it just doesn't feel as expensive when you're buying a bit at a time
(That's what I keep telling myself about this photography lark too!)

LOL, yeah I saw the heart stopping price tag. It's like when you look in the window of a jewellers and you're heart races when you see the prettiest ***item*** you've ever seen, then you imagine how and when you'd wear it and what with and how stunning it would look and glamourous it would make you feel....then you see the price...and swiftly move on

I have to admit that I'm not a fan of the metal charms for the pandora bracelets. The resin/plastic/glass/whatever they are, look so much funkier and fun.

You're right about the photography things, it doesn't seem so expensive in drips and drabs

Oh I'm with you there!
But that's part of the reason I just couldn't justify buying something like that.
I can dream . . . but then reality steps in.
It's gorgeous, but when I think about the number of occasions that I'd actually wear something like that, it would spend more time sat in my jewellery box.

To be fair, I think that the Pandora bracelets are far more wearable for every day - just not my personal taste.

When I was younger I used to wear alot of jewellery (not at the same time though!) so my jewellery got a good wearing out of it, but other than a necklace (usually a cruxifix or cross) and my marital rings, it's not all that often I wear it anymore. When I was 18ish, I thought nothing of going into work with rings on 3 or 4 fingers, a bracelet, necklace, ear rings, etc. There's a few pieces that I need work doing to now TBH (charms added onto a charm bracelet, a bangle fixed cause it's mis-shapen etc) but I'm pleased that I did wear the jewellery I have as often as I did. I don't feel that it was a waste. Now I have reasons not to wear it all of the time, I often feel like it is being wasted.
