RE panasonic G9ii camera

I have windows11 version. The panasonic updates either direct to camera or via SD cards don't work. Yet using my wifes mac laptop they do. Obviously Panasonic may have released the updates but not for windows 11.

I used exactly the same download proceedure on my windows11 and on wifes mac laptop, incase anyone asks..

Same with a lens update via windows 11, impossible using G9ii camera but works with the G9 earlier version

foot note

It is the same with my Panasonic HC-X1500 camcorder it shows version 1.5 but nowhere is it on the firmware update list, which shows 1.4 version. The panasonic sales support guy only came up with the excuse that mine was a factory model not one already on the shelves.

Conclusion
Panasonic only do part update without considering what is being used for the updates.
With all the means and finance of Panasonic disposal, you would have thought all aspects of updates would have been explored and implemented.

To my mind good as Panasonic are they have a serious problem in pre testing before release, at least in their photographic section

Have you tried using the panasonic app on your phone to update the firmware?

Several people have used this method when updating from a pc file hasn't worked.

Can't really reply to that without it appearing rude.

And I'm not.

Think I'll settle with "buy a mobile phone"

Have you seen the cost of a mobile phone and how much it cost a month? Ok if your out working earning a lot of money, but not for an OAP such as myself, say cost £30 month in charges that is £360 a year on average. That is a lot of money out of a state pension of £165 a week after paying water-electricity- rates -Gas -house insurance -let alone trying to run a car or getting food and clothing.

You can buy a cheap second hand phone from somewhere like CEX for as little as £12...

Then you can go to one of the high street phone shops, which seem to be in most high streets, and take out a "SIM only" contract for £5 or so a month.

You can get a brand new bells-&-whistles Samsung phone with free UK calls & texts and all the internet data you'll need for £100/year.

Could you post a link to that offer?

Not ever having a mobile phone I have no idea about costs. I jut took an average advertised on the inteweb. Have to admit having installed phones and switchboards for 25 years working for BT. Phones are at the bottom of my must have list

now if your talking about gong on cruises that is something worth spending money on. I have seen and learned so much going on cruises you can't get out of a mobile phone.

I don't spend that amount on cameras either:angelic:.
After all A panasonic camcorder HC-X1500+ handle - Panasonic G9- Panasonic G9ii- Panasonic 12-60 elmarkt lens- panasonic 100-300mm lens not forgetting also Azden SMX-30V microphone don't cost that much, let alone flash guns- tripods -LED lighting etc.

At least 53 years ago my wife was given to me by her father:exit:
