Bought a Panasonic TZ99 back in June and am in two minds about it, the thing is just so complicated, it is significantly more so than my prev TZ70..... I sometimes have issues with it and cannot fathom if it's a fault or it is set in some obscure setting !
The most annoying "fault" is that sometimes the shutter button needs repeated presses to get it to take a picture (the drive mode is set to "single" with no timer).
Has anyone got any ideas ?!?
Thanks.

Is the camera writing to the card and so won't take another image until finished writing?

Try a faster memory card and see if that helps.

Thank you for your suggestion, but the "fault" sometimes occurs even if it's the first pic after having turned on the camera.
I don't know if it's the same "fault" (since I have had the issue even when there is light) but whilst in the WWII shelters in Rabat (Malta) I tried to use the camera to take a picture with forced flash into a dark void (just to "see" what was in there ! ) but it would not take a pic. Eventually I got it to do so by holding the shutter button down but I never had that issue with the TZ70.
