Panasonic Lumix LX7 Thread

Macro, love food photography AND something that will keep up with the kids and produce nice facial colours. My P300 was super in black and white but a bit meh when it came to colours. We have 2 major holidays this year and I am a bit loathed to take my OMD and lots of lenses. So, in conclusion, everything that my OMD can do but in a small size ;-)
Just reliable colour representation and good macro. Looking at a TZ30 as they are currently on offer but concerned about the sharpness of image in comparison to P300 and others such as the LX7.

The LX7 is adequate for your needs...but if you want fast AF then you'll need phase detection like what's in the Fuji X20.

Haven't used either of my cameras a lot lately...

Used the LX7 to film a bit of sparring for myself a couple of weeks ago, love the output quality in video.

Hoping to take some good stuff this Saturday as I have the day off - and Notting Hill carnival on the weekend too.

I got mine back from DR just in time for my trip to Madrid. I've used it a bit, but spent more time with my Nikon. I think I got some good stuff though.
Currently in the Renfe First Class lounge awaiting my AVE. I'll upload some stuff over the next few days.

The LX7 rules! :)

Nice set Phil, great slowmo.

I really should learn to use this as more than a point and shoot.

This is going to change my life as I know it...

The LX7 can high-speed sync off cam! This shot was taken with a jessops flash, off-camera triggered & bounced at 1/1000s.

...And yes - that is a punch, I wasn't modeling the shot :)

Here's my first upload from my Madrid shots. Taken last night.

Damn, saw this on the Flickr thread earlier, very impressed, even more now I know its on the LX-7!

Phil, nice work on the HSS too, what trigger did you use?

Now, I had another issue - tomorrow I'm on a family day out (an historic thing at Newstead Abbey) and was concerned I'd have the 24-105, 135L and the 150-500, now I'm going to ditch the 24-105 in favour of the LX7 :)

That last one is excellent, if it really looked like that I'm not sure I'd go in though :)

Ha...luckily for you... most of my photos don't like how it was shot ;)

I wanted to get a bit of an post-apocalypse feel.

The thing that I really love about the LX7 is how much information the raw files capture. If the ISO is low enough, you can take the whites and highlights all the way to the left. So impressed every time I use it!

LX7 or RX100?

I'm still confused after reading so much on the net!

^WOW^

Lol have you bought one yet or what?!
:shake: No mate not yet..just purchased a p7700 instead today:nuts::lol: Will give it a go and see if I like it.Was good price so couldnt turn it down.Ricardo phil etc all stunning shots keep them coming!

Very tricky lighting conditions, no tripod....

I find I never need a tripod with the LX7.

I can handheld at something silly like 1/4th second and the fps is so fast bracketing doesn't move if technique is careful.

I've done a lot of low light stuff and HDR with it and never used a tripod unless long exposing.

Nice shots!
