Park Cameras has these available for handling and discussions with Panasonic reps every Saturday in August.
Worth going if live nearby maybe
Looks like hot stuff in terms of specs

I work for Park Cameras and we had it in last Sunday. I think it may be in this weekend too but not sure. It's a GREAT camera!!! Feels very well made. There are a few good vids on You Tube which gives you all the info. With in IBIS and Focus peeking it's going to be a winner for people using MF glass.

I've just ordered mine

Anyone know if the image is stabilised at half press like the omd?

Yeah I can't see anything relating to what type of IBIS it has got. I'm seeing Panasonic on 20th so I'll ask then.

We have tested it scientifically (Cleaning cupboard with the light off!!) and the IBIS works really well as does the high ISO performance!

apparently its 5 axis so might be licenced from Olympus ?

have you seen the stock lens andy ? wondered if its a standard 14-42 or a new version?

wonder if its worth the extra £80

Looks nice but can't see myself replacing my XE-1 :)

Just looking at it it does seem to try and copy the XE-1

Looking at DR, the stock lenses will be 14-42 or 20 1.7 mk2

I read that it is only a 2 axis. Amy chance you could post a link were you read it had 5 axis?

ah probably me getting it wrong ive read so many previews my heads spinning :)

I played with one today.

Very nice feel, and will suit small pancake lenses. VF is very nice, as is the rear screen. It's a bit fiddly if you have large hands (I'm 6ft 8in and 20+ stone) and feels weird with a long lens on it (I tried the 35-100 on). The 14-42 is the mk II and is quite a bit smaller than the mk 1. Firmware is definitely pre-production!

IBIS is 2 axis and worth a stop (I've seen that in a couple of places including the photozine review) so you can halve the shutter speed but that's about it. Size wise it's about the same as an OM-D except the grip is larger and more useful on the GX7. I held an OM-D for the first time today and all I can say is it is too small.

I also tried a GH3 with grip - wow. I am actually quite surprised I walked away without getting the plastic out....

I did look at the GH3 with grip, but it does come in the size of an small DSLR,and when looking at the files compare to the Fuji XE-1 at higher iso the Fuji were better :)

Sorry but the demo GX7 we saw had the old 20mm f1.7 so was a little slow!

Mid to late September was what I was told yesterday.

As to GH3 = mini-DSLR, body wise - yes, lens wise - no :D

Pretty much what I've ben waiting for, small rangefinder type body with built in evf. Maybe finally time to give up ye olde G1.

:)

Looks lovely. Might be just the thing to tempt me back from Olympus. I really miss the menu system and GUI from my Panasonic cameras.

In case anyone is interested the camera with the new 20mm f1.7 lens will be at Rutland bird show this weekend. I was going to take it home tonight but Panasonic nicked it back!! :)

Anyone take delivery of their GX7 today?

Mine is stuck at a courier depot :(

Interesting that WEX still showing some flavours in stock and have been since yesterday afternoon. Maybe there'll be a price drop soon if they ain't very popular?

Either that or Panasonic are not playing Apples games and have plenty available on launch day :)

It was preordered, it was dispatched, it was lost by the courier, it was found, it was returned, it was refunded.

It will be replaced with another OMD :cuckoo:

Was it returned by the courier company when it was found or did you return it because you didnt like it ?
If so what did you dislike about it ?
Regards
Rob

Oh dear. Not that good or just annoyed by the service?

Not even tempted to open it, or was the E-M5 already ordered at that stage?

When they eventually found it I told them to poke it - so it was returned from the courier depot to the retailer.

The. GX7 looks great from the reviews but the new 20mm doesn't appear to be any better at focus speed than the old one - I tried it in store so have handled one.

So already having the 20mm, body only the GX7 is still dearer than the OMD.

I realised I prefer the OMD.

Not great service then!
Still can't decide GX7 or X-E1.....

My brain hurts

Between the two I'd go for the Panny simply because my CS5 wont process X-E1 files without putting a grid of dods over the image :gag: which would mean I'd have to use the Fuji software, buy something else or shoot JPEG
