Panasonic GF3

I'm Disappointed too with way GF series has gone so far. I'm no pro or semi pro but thought the GF1 was a good compromise between dslr and compact i.e you had some good control like dslr.

The GF2 lost it all and GF3 just looks like a holiday camera. Hopefully the split as discussed mean's we get something better but along lines of the GF1

Looks a bit meh, like already said until they release a true GF1 replacement I think they will struggle to get enthusiast support for the GF range.

I chose the EP1 over the GF2 as its just too dumbed down. Nice build though.

Edit: Also it seems that the GF1 replacement might be some time away, seems from that article like they want to prioritise a GH2 replacement first.

I bought a GF2 as a link between my old Canon 20D and my Canon G10, i wanted something smaller and lighter than the DSLR but a bit more flexible than the G10.

I got what I paid for a compromise, i'm still not sure if I like, but the thought they are making the GF3 smaller still makes me think they are going to far.

Where will it end a small square touch screen block that just sits at one end of the lens?

Disgustingly bare. Stop with the touchscreen Panasonic, give me real buttons!!

If anyone want's a decent GF-1 replacement, look at the G3!!!

Yuk, burn out my eyes, its horrid! :)

How can they get it so wrong after almost being cock on with the GF1 ?

Personally the extra size (little as it may be) would rule out the G3 as a replacement for a GF1 size body, EVF or not!

Why so? Really, in practical terms, where would a GF1 go that a G3 won't? There's no practical size difference between my old E-P1 and current G1, and the G3 is a fair bit smaller still.

Does anyone think we will soon be seeing a compact DSLR? Even a smaller FF DSLR would be a step forward - or am I being a bit too hopeful?;)
