OK, so I've decided to get myself a GF1 and 20mm + 14-45mm lenses.

After a bit of a trek around Truro in Cornwall today I found out some slight price differences....

Local independent camera shop quoted £979.

Broken down as £599 for body and 14-45 + £379 for 20mm.

Large chain of retailers that used to have a shop in most towns (and several shops in some towns ) quoted £865.

Broken down as £565 for body and 14-45 + £300 for the pancake.

The shop assistant told me this was the trade price and that they bought in the body and zoom combo for £560, so would only be making a fiver on the sale...

Mathers of Lancashire, who I have seen reccommended on here and also advertising in one of the photography mags quote £769.

There is no breakdown but about £3 P&P

Now, I am all for supporting local business, however these price differences are a bit more than I am prepared to absorb

Does anyone know of any better UK deals for the above body and lenses?

TIA

Alan

Fotosense are doing the GF1 + 14-45 + 20mm for £824 . It also qualifies for the £50 cashback :)

Thanks for that, but the £769 at Mathers is also before the £50 cashback ;)

Hyde camera centre are doing the 20mm for £250.

I haven't looked into the separate item prices too closely but that is certainly a big improvement on the independent and chain prices!

That is CHEAP

I wonder if it should read £796 ??

I'll be passing Mathers tomorrow, I check if they have one in the window (Shop not open Sundays) but it does say to mention WEB to get those prices in the shop.

They were very good when I bought stuff from the shop, in giving me the web price.
