Hi everyone,
I have a Panasonic G1. I want to start taking some decent macro pics, what would be the ideal set-up for my camera? I have priced up the Panasonic macro and that is out of my price range at the moment and I also have some small screw in magnifying glass lenses that I bought, but the problem is sharpness of picture. Has anyone any thoughts on how I can sort this problem out?:help:
 
When I had a G-1 I used a Raynox 250 on the end of the 14-45mm and took some quite good shots.
 
Thanks Hugh..I am using both the 14-45mm and the 45-200mm Lumix lenses that came with the kit.
 
What I did with my G2.

ciecio7 FD to m4/3 adapter, €30.

Canon FD 50mm f/3.5, £60-£90*

Set of extension tubes - £15-£30.

While macro isn't really my game, it works a treat when I need it.

* look carefully and you can get the FD 100mm f/4 for similar money.

I've also been using it for some experiments with digitising 35mm film slides without using a scanner.

Might be worth looking at other legacy macro lenses (M42, Olympus OM, etc.) that can be easily adapted for m4/3.

I use the 45-200mm Lumix on a G3 with a Raynox 150. I sold a 250 in favour of the 150.

The 250 for me gave too much magnification and too short a working distance.

Minolta MD 45mm f2 on a 2x macro Teleconverter. Fantastic setup and cheap.

This may actually be from a zuiko 50mm on 2x TC, if so then the Minolta is better again!

Hi...Many thanks to MusicMan and all others who replied.
I will give the Raynox a try I think..opinion seems to favour it and the results 'aint bad either.
