I see yeah ill check that later just incase.

Panamoz Beats the £1959 price tag from Jessops for the same items

My 650d 18-135 STM it has come this morning. Tracking shows it was picked up Friday Morning, so for me it was next working day! (but really 3 days)

More than happy, I paid £225 less than what I would have paid going to Jessops.

I saved £549.00 can't complain ;);)

I dont mind really, that Panamoz is giving false info to customs as any other company in the world avoids "legally" taxes or VAT payments anyways. So why not to benefit "us" the consumers out off this?

I will order my 650D with 18-135mm kit from them aswell.

c.grex, hows the camera ? :)

You have to bear in mind though that you are the importer so don't complain if the brown stuff hits the fan.

I don't think DHL/UPS give 2 monkeys what is declared on the packaging, it is non of their business, and they are being paid and make a profit.

I very much doubt that given the rules regarding the transporation of lithium batteries, any company has a duty of care.

I have a Li battery safety document in my hand from Pmoz which relates to an order I had delivered earlier today and can assure you that they fully disclose what has been sent in this respect.

FWIW, I was supplied with a faulty Canon 7D about a week ago; do not think Pmoz can be blamed for Canon's QC !

I simply reported the fault to Tina then sent the body back to a uk address and was supplied with a new body a few days later (today). Cannot fault the service from Tina or Pmoz.

I have the flu and feel like cr@p. so I've only been playing the house.

I am going from a1000d, with 17-55mm, with nifty two-fifty, and nifty fifty. The STM lens is so much faster and well built to my others, and the camera is looking good with the playing I have done so far. The only thing I don't like is all the hints and tips when you press a button, it's like they expect you to know anything about cameras if you buy a 650d! So I've turned all the help functions off.

One intresting thing I looked at today regarding the 650d and STM is second hand on eBay, body's sell for £380-400 and the STM lens around £250. So I could make money now by selling it on!

That is exactly what I wanted to read. Plenty of reviews on purchasing, but only a few on warranty honouring. Thanks!

If you're thinking of the likes of Amazon, they don't avoid VAT on cameras (they do on digital services and items under €22, but this is done legally). And a UK-based supplier can't dodge VAT either. So your argument is false.

If you have no problem with tax evasion, that's your choice (*) but don't try to justify that decision with false claims that 'all companies are at it'.

(*) until HMRC pull their finger out and close this scam down.

Quoting Amazon is not a good move on your part - Amazon are currently being slammed for not paying corporation tax. I can guarantee it is far more than Panamoz are avoiding, not that I am saying two wrongs make a right.

Ordering form Amazon is nothing like ordering form HK and not paying duty on goods etc. No one will be knocking on your door because you didnt declare the correct value of your Amazon delivery ;-)

Well i have made the invoice request, and recived that, also made payment today. So eagerly waiting for my camera :)

My point was that Purchases from Amazon do result in some revenue to the Exchequer - VAT, duty on their imports, employment taxes on their UK staff. Admittedly corporation tax is largely avoided.
The same item purchased from Panamoz contributes sod all to the Exchequer.

And to correct you on a technical point - Panamoz are not avoiding UK tax, they are evading it. A huge legal difference.

And in my opinion tax evasion is a more serious 'moral' wrong than tax avoidance.

In my personal opinion is that its a bargain to have and we would be fools not to use this.

As if we were worse than americans who get most electronial items way cheaper than in UK?

Anyone here bought from them and had the items delivered to Ireland? I just can't see anything from outside EU getting through customs here. I've been hit every time I've ordered from HK, never got past them. Pity, as they have some stuffs at prices I'd love to take advantage of.

Cagey75, then u need to find a "very good" friend , to who send items in UK and then let him ship em to you ;)

They state * Shipping to the UK, Ireland, France, Spain, and Australia

Seeing as they are so specific to the countries they ship to, I think you would be ok. This together with * All import duties and additional charges are paid by us (No more surprising charges), should cover you.

Bought a Canon 60D body from panamoz on 7th . Shipped yesterday ( 8th ) to Ireland . Fingers crossed . Will let you know when it arrives :-)

This is the thing that keeps me reading this thread.

It's not Panamoz, they are not the importer, it's each and every buyer (importer) that are evading the Duty & VAT.

Wouldn't be my choice but if people are happy to deceive the HMRC that's up to them.

Got my tracking number. What u think, will it get to me by weekend? :)

Currently shows as shipping details only aquired @ 18:10 HK time.

more than happy to deceive them as are everyone posting here whos brought something off them, so not sure why the tambourine shakers keep raising this point. Noone apart from you cares in the slightest.

While its no excuse for not reporting these HK shops for undervaluing the goods i was surprised when mine arrived and had Toy samples on it. I genuinely didnt know they did that at the time, and in no way did i ask them to.
Im not complaining though, i saved a packet so im happy.

No need for the name calling or belittling someone else's point of view.

Perhaps you need reminding of TP's rules; :rules:

Cool, do let us know. It'll be more for future reference as I've emailed them about the lens I was after - non in stock :/ ... for now at least.

Anyone know how long orders from Panamoz take to reach the UK? I had something from Holland delivered by UPS and it took about 2 days, is this the same from Panamoz?

Ordered Thursday, paid Friday, currently in Germany so I expect delivery tomorrow. The longest part was waiting for the parcel to be picked up.

Yup exactly.

The only thing you need to factor in is that HK is several hours ahead of us. Thus, if you place an order when their office is shut, the order will not be processed until the following working day. If you pay on our time Friday afternoon, then your order will not be despatched till Monday. It will likely be acknowledged though so you can rest easy. Pay by Monday afternoon, HK time and you are quite in line for a Wednesday delivery by said brown van ;)

IMHO you can but with confidence from Panamoz.
