I have Elements 8. I was talking to a friend last night and she was telling me that PSP was really easy to use in comparison.

Is PSP easier to use, and does it give you the sort of results that PSE does?

I have downloaded the trial version of PSP, so will take a bit of time to try it, but the thing I like about PSE is all the tutorials available.

Any views on PSP vs PSE would be gratefully received!!

thanks

Hey Cathy

I quite liked the trial version of Corel PSP (except the HDR) but I now have photmatix for that.

I've been told a lot of good things about PSE tho... the last time I used PSE was version 3 I believe (many moons ago and about 4 laptops ago)

So... I'm not sure. I've been using Picasa for years as it is very quick and simplified (love Picasa actually for it's simplicity)... quick being the operative for me as I take hundreds of photos, not just a few. However, I'm "growing up" now so I'm thinking PSP or PSE would be the way to go - I do find it takes a lot longer tho to process pics - but I'm a total amateur so I kinda faff around for a while looking at different views - so it takes me an eon.

I think it's like anything, once you get used to using particular software, it becomes second nature, just need to bite the bullet, go for one and make it work I guess.

(ha, that prolly wasn't real helpful, you can see how long processing a photo would take me by that amount that I witter about it :p >

I don't have elements and haven't used PSP since version 8.
Personally I found PSP harder than photoshop, that said I had started with photoshop 6.0 and was already used to it, so when I used PSP I kept looking in the wrong places for things and got frustrated.
I suspect the new version of PSP has a lot more to offer than elements,it's closer to the full blown photoshop with it's features. If your already used to one or the other you might find switching over harder, but if your new to both, I'd suggest you download the trial versions and see which does what you want to do best.
