I'm ******** myself  Next month a bunch of us from where I work are having a day paintballing, all booked now. Never done this before!

Anyone else ever been? Does it hurt as much as they say it does? :gag:

Sometimes....;);)

It depends where you are hit.
Top of the leg, small of the back, side of the neck?? OWWWW!!

Just a tip.......

Wear baggy clothing not tight fitting jeans or jumper.
And the balls that really sting are the ones that don't burst.
Great fun though
;)

Shorts & t-shirts = pain

Make sure you have a couple of layers on,some good strong boots
& decent eye protection (mx goggles).

Make sure dont get caught 'wiping' (trying to wipe the paint off yourself)
as the club i used to use made you stand in the middle of a circle of
players whilst they shot you repeatedly :lol:

Enjoy - its a ball

I had a wonderful picture of a guy on a paintball meet I went on...
He got a paintball right smack in the middle of his head just above the goggles and below the hairline!!

If you can picture a mosquito bite about 2 inches round.............it looked like that!

He had a headache all day

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Unfortunately my old HD bricked it and I hadn't backed up that particular set.

Should be good, the games look ace that we are playing. Its indoor in some big warehouse place with underground car park etc

I love paintballing, i went in a teashirt and sports trousers once and it did hurt quite abit.

Loose trousers and tops do work quite well i must say, and always remember to where the mask they give you, do not take it off inside of the netting. The marsal will send you off and you probs won't be aloud back on again.

A decent pair of gloves is a good idea as well...

I "stormed" a foxhole once, dived over the top of it with paintballs blazing.
Didn't have gloves on and got shot from point blank range and it hit me on the knuckle without bursting (the paintball not the knuckle).

**** that hurt........... (and he shot me after he had been hit himself which was a bit naughty) :nono::nono::nono:

Dam, i would have cried

Yeah the balls travel faster in warn dry air, my worst one one was on one of my arse cheeks. The ball did not burst, so it was a tad painfull to sit down for a few days.
Have not been paintballing for about a year now, the things you do during games to avoid being shot is mad, but dam good fun.

beware if it's a cold day those ball don't always burst ouch.....:D

Surely you'll be provided with protective eye/head gear, overalls and perhaps gloves? We were anyway, and that was a good 4 years ago. I've been once and really enjoyed it! From what I can remember, it did hurt, quite a lot if shot at very close range! Being on defence in a confined area is the worst! You have about 20 people all coming at you spraying paint balls in all directions! Find someone taller than yourself and hide behind them :woot:

Have fun, Jim.

I'll agree with the multiple baggy layers and gloves, from personal experience an unexploded paint ball to the back of the hand hurts like hell and you can't unleash pain on your attacker in comfort during subsequent rounds.

As said tis great fun, the last time I went we were provided MX mask, you know the goggles and face mask all in one piece. the worst that happened to me was as I jumped over a rather large ditch the bloke laying in the bottom let 2 paintballs rip one hit me in the family jewels and the other went between my face and the mask, fortunately it tore the mask off my face and did no harm to my my face ( and trust me my face could not take being made even more ugly. :D )

I went quite a few years back, and one thing that i remember, is that you need to take £££££ for all those paintballs you'll use.

I got supplied with overalls, and masks, and gloves, but i got shot on the tip of my index finger, my trigger finger and MAN did that hurt. The only other part that hurt me was my knee, when i got shot between the two muscles just above the knee cap.

And BTW, people LOVE shooting at heads, and paintball paint tastes a bit.. well... :gag:.

Have fun anyway, it's something that you'll want to do time and time again once you've done it for the first time, Oh, and decent shoes are a MUST.

:D

Baggy clothes. That is all you need. Don't be scared of it. Once you feel the first hit, you'll understand. :)

I went paintballing a couple months ago for a stag doo. it was really good. great day. the paintballs sting a bit depends where they hit. i got hit in the same nipple three times, that hurt, (especially since two of them were one after the other and from about 3 feet away) i still had marks on my nipples for a month.

but apart from that it was great.

A long time ago I went to one of the original Skirmish sites and got hit in the cheek from a range of around 2 foot - shot through the gap in a wall of the log fort. I was a bit dazed and confused for a few minutes and had a perfect circle mark for a week or so. Then later on I took another shot that managed to get underneath the face mask and burst on my lips - that dye does not taste nice :(

Great fun though, enjoy!

Last time I went.. I only got hit once :p which I guess was fortunate because I wore t-shirt and jeans (and the overalls) but no real padding.. but then me and a few mates played really tactically.. so there was 3 and 2 would always be firing and the other would be keeping low and spotting for the other team out anywhere.

Regards, James

and watch out for the dead mans walk !

I remember the very first time I went. I was in the team "defending" the village and in a building with about 3 or 4 other guys peeping out of a doorway waiting for the "enemy"...
We had two guys covering the windows, one of which was on the side of the building by some trees.
The enemy charged...it was mayhem with paintballs whizzing everywhere and the guy guarding the front window took a hit so was out of it.
I rushed to the window to take his place, not knowing that the other guy covering the side window had also been shot.
As I peered around the window to shoot somebody lurking by the front door, a gun appeared through the side window and let loose a paintball which hit me right in the neck from about 5 yards away.
It knocked me off my feet, and bloody stung for days!!
