The studio size is not generous, about 6m in length. So every inch is precious.
Rather than use vinyl or paper background, would it be practical to paint the wall to neutral grey?
I like to do high key, low key and colour gel background.
Any advice welcome.

Also I am thinking to use pantograph ceiling mounted flash heads, what do you think?

looking good Rob, cheers.
The only issue I can think of is the low key shoots. I have concern that the distance won't give it a pitch black.
I am looking at B&Q Grey Slate. It is very close to neutral grey. I suppose I can ask for customised mix, but at 5 times the price, I don't think it is worthy.

we had about the same size studio at collage and it was ok so you should be ok might be worth painting the roof if you are able to though or you might get light bounce in back

regards

Painting the ceiling black is probably the most worthwhile thing you can do.
Grey walls will be a big help, and if by 'low key' you mean black background, then it may not be black but it will be pretty close, and selective color in PS can work wonders if you really must have it black.
