No
I suffer from this and it's annoying, its nearly like dandruff but it's not, and i don't have any on my head either.

So, every so often i get very dry skin, sometimes on my forehead as well as under the beard, the forehead i can deal with, simple keeping clean and moisturiser but what about the beard?

It's not a mad bush beard (none of the hipster daftness) but its fairly full and im wondering what people use to keep their beards in condition and the skin beneath?

Soap, water and a razor - every day :)

Anti-dandruff shampoo at the same time as my head hair - about every 4th day - and then fresh water rinse without soap in the shower daily. Gets a little dry sometimes, but not often. I also try to do enough exercise to perspire hard at least a couple of times a week, as this seems to both cleanse the pores and moisturise the skin.

I use a beard oil every couple of days. Seems to work well.

http://areyoubearface.com/product/fresh-beard-oil/ This is the one I'm using at the minute but I'd recommend trying to find a bricks and mortar stockist where you can go and have a smell of different brands. I'd ordered on online previously but really didn't like the smell of it and ended up binning it after a week or so.

Ah! The dreaded beardruff! I keep mine reasonably short (#1 Wahl buzz cut every few weeks) and in between, I use Olive Oil soap and a nail brush every shower as well as frequent plain water splashes. Keeps the itching and flaking down. Keeping the beard is actually less itchy for me than regular shaving.

I tend to use an anti dandruff shampoo on the beard about twice a week and just ordinary soap and water in between.
Thing is even the day after a shampoo it'll be flakey and dry so think it's a sensitive skin issue too.

rather than a nail brush i do have one of those little exfoliator brushes for my non beard skin so maybe i need to try that on the beard too.

I may need to try a different soap too, am off to body shop later as theres a man one thats supposed to be quite good.

as for the bear face products @Leslie I note there are 2 shops in hitchin which isnt far from me and i go roughly monthly anyway with her indoors as a day out :-)

I'd keep soap away from facial skin as much as possible unless you have a bucket load of greasiness to remove, because every time you use it, the soap will strip away natural oils and leave the skin dry and inflexible leading to flaking and cracking. Keep soap for cleaning stuff that's dirty.

Nail brush I get, but I'm keeping an actual beard, not stubble every few weeks
#1 doesn't produce stubble, but if its a full hipster type beard then maybe a comb or stiff hair brush would be more functional?

I use regular shampoo and conditioner every time I have a shower (every other day), and haven`t had the dreaded dandruff from my goatee. And a small beard comb to keep everything untangled and clean.

Id not say it's a hipster beard, I call it the fat Riker as Im fatter than him.

Anti-dandruff two-in-one shampoo a couple of times a week or more keeps the beardruff in check.

Captain Fawcett's gentleman's stiffener to tame the 'tache, and an occasional comb through with Doctor K's beard oil to condition the hair and skin beneath.

Beard = Mess.

Get rid!!!o_O

I used to get bothered with psoriasis and dry skin making it painful to shave, so now I just use the hair trimmer to shave head and trim stubble/beard at same time. I dint mind being a scruff, done that for years if not decades
Working outside in winter, the beard gives a bit more protection but I never let it get long and itchy
Fashionably scruffy is ok, but I'm not into the abandoned tramp look :)

I use whatever shampoo my girlfriend has on the side of the bath every morning. A little blob in me hand then a good lather of my beard. Makes me face smell nice too.

Shower every day, though the only soap or shampoo that hits my face is overspill. Beard trim weekly, the beard is short but not stubble.

My general grooming regime consists of a weekly run over with clippers (set to number 3 so longer than stubble), twice a week I will tidy the cheeks and neck with a razor and daily is normal shower gel at the same time as my hair and a few drops of beard oil after to keep it soft and moisturised. Seems to do the trick and replaces the need for aftershave too. All in all a beard saves money :D

Its OK you women don't need to be left out of the thread now.

Well, Dad was the only person in the family without a moustache.
