I did my CPAGB last year, and this is one that needs a collection (number dependent on award) of good quality, well printed and well presented pictures , which can be easier than putting together a balanced set of pictures that need to work together. For these awards there is no need for the pictures to form a panel, as they will not be seen as such.
Your pictures will be put before the panel of six judges, mixed in with every other applicant's pictures, and be scored individually. You can attend the judging and record your own scores as they are given, which also lets you see the general standard of photography and how images are scored.
One picture from each entrant is shown first, then a second from each entrant, and so on until all images have been shown, so if one of your pics is the first to be shown from thirty entrants, your pics will then be thirty first, sixty first, etc, to be seen.
Judges are allowed to give up to 5 marks per image, and to give you an idea most pictures score between 12 and 24 points, with some pictures achieving more then 24 (not many). Your ten pictures, for a successful CPAGB award, need to average 20 points each, as 200 points is the pass mark.
To enter there is a requirement to have been a member of a participating camera club for a period of time, depending on which award you are trying for.
CPAGB is considered "Good Camera Club standard", and DPAGB is considered "Open Exhibition standard".
