weekly -OY-'s Weekly challenge thingamibob for 2022. Week 52 : Showcase (52 2022 Complete)

I like the composition of the fire in the hole shot :) I spotted the fire straight away, but also spotted other possible holes that fit the theme.

Love, love, love your conventional shot. I'd be so happy if I took that.

Many thanks :)

Week 18 : Sunset

Not the shot I wanted but it'll do. I wanted the sun on the horizon righr under the pylon, but that big cloud bank foiled me.

That's a nice one Dave. Could be a natural monochrome.

As above, this would fit the tech for me. Nice image and an interesting PoV

An imposing image. Makes you wonder what will happen next.

I really like this shot... it's a very strong and striking image.

Great idea and I like the colours. That sounds tricky to get the sun in the right spot.... but those dratted clouds.... did you use something like Photopills to get it lined up.... if it weren't for the clouds? I have bought that, but I still haven't properly got round to learning how to use it.

I use The Photographer's Ephemeris on my iPhone.

Liking all 4 of those - for me, the last one would be the one but can see why you went for the first.

Yeah I may have chosen that if I hadn't done a similare shot foir "Hole"

Very impressive. I would be pleased with any of them.

Great panning technique, something that I have been working on but it takes a lot of practice !!

Thanks. It sure does! I usually start at 1/160" - and when I start getting keepers go down to 1/125, then 1/100 and finally 1/80. It's a good job I'm not shooting film haha!

Love all these Dave, you've caught the power and speed of the sport very well.

4 crackers there Dave. 1 and 4 for me, but to be fair they're all excellent!

All great for Sport - personally I prefer the last one as it dramatises that lean angle a little more.

But they're all great captures.

Like mentioned above, I've tried panning without too much success...

Brilliant captures. 1 and 4 for me. I'm not sure which one I'd choose.

Thanks Kell. As for panning it takes a lot of practice - even on the day it takes me a while to get my eye in!

Cheers Donal :)

All great shots and technique. Would be no. 4 for me as the pair racing adds to the sport theme.

I wouldn't be able to choose between the first 3, The shadow really makes each shot.

Never thought of the Aintree Motorsport Club! So close to me as well. You’ve caught some great pictures there. Great focus on them all.

I really like your submitted picture but for me the last one just edges it. The lean angle and sense of speed is very well caught here.

Lucky with the weather too.

Wonderful set Dave and l really like 1 and 4. Great panning technique. Just about right amount of blur on background for me.
