Yes
just picked up a saucepan that had been in the oven. 200 degrees. grabbed left hand though not right. hurts like a lot of four letter words. sitting with ice block on it.

take the ice off it'll do damage

cold running water or ice with a towel between you and the ice

;)

and keep the hand high as possible
lessons the pain - prob a v good reason why it works - I just know it does

I know its too late now but you need slow running water for at least 10 minutes on burns. If the burn is still sore and blistering I suggest you should see a doctor. Generally they say if a burn is bigger than the palm of the sufferers hand then go to A and E. If its on the palm of the hand I think its best to see a doctor anyway as any scarring could restrict movement.I'm not a doctor so could be wrong but was a first aider for many years.

Thanks for the concern! I did run it under the tap for a good long while, then continued the iceblock wrapped in teatowel for ages. Then paracetomal and elevated it. no pain now, and it hasn't blistered, so all good.

That must have taken ages to type with one hand :D

Is it not cold running water you need? (i am no doctor so dont change the treatment on my behalf!)

Only just spotted that. Yes, and that is why there was no capital letters.
