Yes
...because I just ordered a Canon EF 70-200 f/2.8 L from One Stop Digital.

Can't wait until it arrives! Been wanting to get my hands on this lens for a while now! Yay!

£629 including shipping plus any customs charges get paid back! Pretty good deal if you ask me, I coulden't find anywhere else nearly as cheap.

:D

Well yeah been meaning to break out a nice tele-photo for a while now, all the photography I do at the moment is close up.

The first thing i'm gonna do when I get it is go out into London on the Tube and walk along the South Bank hehe :D

Bank balance won't look nice though, i'm dreading looking at it, will be almost £900 overdrawn but what else are student bank acounts for if not spending money that's not yours?

Sweet, I'm saving for the 100 - 400L IS but when I get near the price of one of yours I will seriously reconsider the options.

Well enjoy it and pay for it by selling photos

Just made the decision to go and buy this lens 2moro  got a double christening on Sunday so I don't want to scrimp and miss Opps as I could get alot of work from it, deep breaths !

Yeah I was concidering the 100-400L but didn't becuase it's 4.5 wide open and I wanted something wider than what i'v already got.

visualisetheworld - Yep, I plan to. Gonna use it loads at weddings and events so a few of them should pay it off nicely :D

Yep :)

Normally i'd go with DigitalRev but their price was £700 AND they don't reimburse the customs tax if charged...

Picked one of these up on Wednesday. Right now I am on the train down to London for the weekend with my wife. Hopefully the weather will not be too bad so I get lots of opportunity to try it out

Hehe fortunatly I live in London so I get a pick of the weather :D

Theres no way that I'd ever contemplate spending that kind of money on such a luxury item if I didn't have the cash up front or could easily afford to pay off what I'd "borrowed". Then again I wouldn't be so blase about it either..

I guess that's what it's like being young though.

Saying that, by boy is less than £100 OD on his account and has decided to stay in Bristol all this week to work it off rather than come home.

Students....

Did you get a price of Kerso? There is a £50 cash back deal on this lens, also onestop only give a 6 month return to HK warranty.

I get that too :) When I was younger I could not afford to indulge my passion for photography. At school I wanted to join the camera club but my parents steadfastly refused to fund a mere hobby that might not last. Thirty years later, I'm still taking photos so I guess it was not exactly a flash in the pan.

The thing is, with a purchase like that, if you are doing paid assignments, they can be an investment. If it is a business decision then that is different.

It's not really a luxury item, i'm going to use it for work so it will pay itself off after a job or two...

I also have 2 jobs (one other photography job and a job as a waiter) so i'l be able to pay it off soon enough, even without big photography jobs.

Lens arrived today, really quick shipping as it was only shipped yesterday.

Didn't have to pay any customs tax, One Stop Digital put the lens as 'repaired' on the shipping recipt (it's new though) to avoid customs tax...pretty sneaky hehe.

First thoughts - EXCELLENT, I love this lens and i'v not even used it properly yet. It's quite heavy, but not as heavy as I was expecting. AF is ultra fast and very accurate. Range is really nice, longer than I was expecting.

Gonna take it into central London when the weather is nicer (need a bit more sun, it's too cloudy today).

Will write a review and post up some photos aswel :D

Tis a great lens
I really didn't have a problem with the weight thing either
Enjoy
