No
basically someone wants to buy something from me overseas, theres a fair few scams going on.

it is within europe but that doesnt really stop scammers.

So payment by BT obviously the best option, is there any come back from this? Obviously items wont be sent until funds have cleared. :bat:

Send by Airsure, tracked with signature on receipt of goods

Paypal "gift" has worked fine with me when selling to overseas buyers

they have said to make it easyer i can send it to a 'friend' in the uk.

Ill send that RMSD its the payment obviously, and making sure im protected against them pulling it out/it being a fraudulent account

I would make sure that you give any form of payment at least two weeks to clear.

Banks etc are renouned for being a bit slow to some of these things.

Paypal "gift" carries no protection for the person who sent it and once you get the cash transfer it straight to your linked bank account

Obviously don't send the goods until you have the cash where you want it

Not so sure about the friend business though, would have to be your call on whether that's a good idea or not

When I sell on Ebay I only accept IBAN bank transfer from overseas buyers - most folks for Europe are fine with this. Never had any problems.

I've had a few buyers trying it on with Paypal so its a no-no for me now (ie please give me a £30 partial refund for a random reasons) but they soon go away when you say, "no partials, send it back if you are not happy.."

Paypal Gift can still be reversed if funded by Direct Debit (Direct Debit Guarantee) as can Gift if funded via Credit Card.

PS: I should also say that 99.9% folks whether UK or overseas are 101% fine!

Yep why im not to happy about Pp gift, i know most people are fine, rather annoyingly the user doesnt have any posts on the forum in question which is why im trying to be extra careful

Try to get them to pay by IBAN.

I sold a lens on Ebay last month to a buyer in Switzerland, he sent the IBAN on a Sunday, and I had the funds in my Nationwide account at 2pm on Monday.

Its cheaper for the buyer as he doesn't have to pay the 2.5% Paypal currency loading... or pick up your fees either, and IBAN is free if he pays you in Euros so win-win.
