Outlook stores email folders, contacts etc in Outlook.pst ... where does it store the email account setting?

Office 14 so I believe that's 2010.

its in the registy, a lot of it seems to be random chars though..

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles\Outlook

eek, that's not going to take me anywhere ... time to re-enter everything on the new laptop I guess :annoyed:

Tools>account settings then double click the account you want and that takes you to the settings.
Or
Start>control panel>mail gets you to account settings then double click to get to the settings page

Thanks, yes I know where to find the record of the settings ... I was looking for a way to transfer them to the new laptop, like in importing the outlook.pst file to transfer all of my emails etc but without having to manually transfer each one.

think they did away with that in outlook express?

Typical ... do away with the useful and fill it up with dross!

What about Windows Easy Transfer?

I'm quitting whilst I'm ahead :D
