Outlook 2011 Mystery

Mrs fabs has a Macbook Air using Outlook for emails but, since she ran an update the other day, she can no longer see the main window. All she can see is the menu bar at the top of the screen (ie, File, Edit, View etc. If I click View>Go To on my iMac, I get:

But when she does the same, nothing is ticked. When she clicks on Mail, nothing happens.

She's tried rebooting but it's made no difference.

Any help with this would be appreciated, she has a lot of emails saved in folders so she's rather concerned.

Yes, I guessed that was what you meant.

I've finally come across something which might help. Apparently it's a known issue with the recent update but, until now, I couldn't find any solution. Finally found a link which takes me to a further update which allegedly resolves the issue but isn't in the auto update fed yet.

Sod's law, spent ages trying to find a solution and found one half an hour after starting this thread.

It was a known issue caused by a Microsoft update. I hadn't updated mine yet so it was only affecting her Macbook. I found a blog that linked to the subsequent update that resolved it.

The update that caused the issue was 14.5.0
