Outdoor clothing...

Hi, try a google search for a 'cycle softshell jacket', should work.

Pop into go outdoors but beware you may end up spending a fortune

Also worth looking at is TK Maxx. I got a Traspass medium weight waterproof for about 40% of the RRP. Recent weather has proved it to be rather good, just need to get some water proof trousers now!

I use a berghaus choktoi fleece which is superb if cold or hot, as an outer I have a montane shell which extremely thin and light as well as water and wind proof...

Both from go out doors :)

Would definately recommend the combo to anyone :)

That does the job nicely. It is my default jacket now.

You could have a look for outlet stores near your area. I was pleasantly surprised by Atlantic village in Devon.

Summer is almost upon us. I'm looking for something impossible!

A warm (for chilly summer mornings), waterproof (for British summer), folds small (for the midday sun) jacket.

With your name (inferring your location and/or heritage) surely you mean you're looking for a slightly longer-sleeved t-shirt for the mornings and that's about it really :)

(I'm from Newcastle, I know exactly what people wear on a night out in a blizzard in January :D)

I still use my 5 year old North Face jacket. Water/wind-proof outer, then it has the removable fleece in-side. So depending on the weather you can chop and chance the differetn layers. Also have a North Face body-warmer... best item of clothing I have, its great for the early mornings and cold nights as it gets quite chilly through the summer.

funnily enough i got a pair of Nike waterproof overtrousers for about £20 from Tk Max;) if your prepared to have a rake through the racks

Craghoppers softshell windproof. Showerproof to a good degree, but I have treated mine with Nikwax TX10 and makes it a brilliant jacket. Folds up reasonable small for suffing into my rucksack or Lowepro.

I got some Jack Pyke kit and have found it to be very good - even wrote a review!

I bought a Berghaus Sanctity Gore-tex jacket last July. I used it as a lightweight summer showerproof and I've worn it throughout last autumn/winter for walking the dog and going out on togging trips. It's never let me down and I'm very happy.

List price was £260, and some places may still try to charge you that much, or near enough, but I paid £130 for mine, from Blacks, and that is a figure you should find without difficulty by shopping around. Mine is the red/black model and, while others may disagree, I think it has a slightly slimming effect on my gargantuan belly.

Modeled by yours truly....
