I promised my lovely partner that before i leave this planet for other pastures i would give the kitchen of her dreams, this week has seen a long and sometimes painful project come to an end, she now has the kitchen/diner of her dreams with a total floor space of 29sq mt

Heres a pictoral guide from start to finish

Now onto the living room, seriously.

Absolutely fantastic, Gary. What a great space.
Well done you. :clap::clap::clap:

Just had a look at the photos Gary - very nice indeed, that is a transformation !!!

Really liking the gloss finish and the wall colour / wallpaper works well and looks very nice - finishes it off well.

Oh, and you've got the door my other half has been after (y)

I was beginning to worry that you hadn't left enough for a microwave, but relieved to finally spot it near the door. Then again, maybe your other half can actually cook? (y)

That is truly very very bloody lovely!
I bet she's over the moon!

A stunning kitchen, have to make sure my other half doesn't see this or I'm in trouble

very nicely done indeed ,love the curved corners

Thanks for the nice words guys, this has been a total of 6 month since I first put plans in place, it's been a genuinely tearfully process at times, we wasted 3 month on a construction/kitchen company who shafted me even when they knew I have a terminal illness, we did get money back but the delay caused more problems as it meant there was a chance I might not be around to see the finished job, thankfully I'm still here and am now starting to re do the lounge.

That's a fantastic kitchen. I hope you get a chance to enjoy it for a long time too.

Likewise I had no idea about your illness, but well done for not just becoming a self-centred huddle of misery, and instead thinking of the future for your wife.

There is an awful lot to like about that kitchen Gary, well done!
The design, balance, shape and the lighting is superb.

Glad it's finished mate

although to be honest the last one wasnt bad haha:)

What a fantastic transformation from that old dark kitchen to this new bright space. Well done!

Very nice mate. I just completed a kitchen diner in September last year with high gloss cream units and went for a very similar colour to your green. Less than a year later my wife wants it painted chocolate as she's not sure it's her !!! I love it though so until she learn to use a roller it's staying.

That looks bloody great.

Good on ya Gary.
I know you said a while ago you hadn't been well, obviously didn't know exactly what, but seeing you getting shut of lots of your gear recently I thought you might be retiring early or maybe even moving abroad. Real sorry to hear the reason now. :sorry: Keep yourself occupied as long as poss & enjoy what you have. The kitchen looks fantastic btw (y) & I bet your missus is proud of you & with what you've achieved.

Brilliant job, well done Gary and stay positive mate.

:plusone:

Wish we had the space for a decent kitchen - ours is 10'6" x 6'...

All the best for the (hopefully) years to come so you can enjoy the fruits of your labours.

Mine's not a huge kitchen either.
However, since I shall be shortly requiring a project to keep me occupied, I am thinking of removing the (non load-bearing) wall between said kitchen, and the rather larger but seldom used dining room next door. :-)

Thank you everyone, this project has kept me going during this dark time, it's given me a purpose, a reason to get out of bed, a reason to say f*** you Mr C, i'm not ready to go just yet

Like it Gary and Its one massive thing to rest your head about! your missus not having to worry about getting it done.

However I am truly shocked and gutted to hear of your poor health, I thought of you today as I pulled the epic 14 24 from my bag and copped a truly fantastic shot of 24 ballet dancers back lit and to then read this..... Its made me think how I take so much for granted.

May you live long Gary and I hope and pray you give this a good kicking I hope you can beat it if there is a chance......I hope for all the best for you!

Gorgeous kitchen...I just have to ensure my other half doesn't see any of your photos of the new kitchen or she may get some new ideas.

It's good ... but it's not quite Carling - only space for five bottles of wine. What were you thinking?

Truly superb job, Gary :D

When I saw this thread, I feared the worst. I don't know Gary but my condolences to the family. RIP Gary.

So very sad, Gary was a passionate bloke about his photography and, having spent an afternoon with him buying my Nikon 14 24 from him when I was just starting out and after a few conversations on the phone regarding best way to achieve the result I was after I am very sorry to hear he has lost his battle.

I have Gary's mobile number on my phone Gary 14 24 Nikon

Very sad news and a real decent fella on here.

My deepest sympathy to the family and may you rest in peace Gary.

Condolences to Gary's family - glad he managed to see this last project completed.

Very Sorry to learn of the Sad news

R.I.P.

Met Gary and his family a few times and stood in that very kitchen before the fantastic new one. Straight talking, no nonsense fella who was very helpful to me on a few occasions.

I had no idea that he was ill and opened this reasonably old thread to post some witty and probably sarcastic comment. Shocked and saddened to hear that he has passed away.

Rest in peace fella.

Chris
