Out of order

also mr cameron doesnt have the cojones

Fortunately neither do the Argentines, tbh given that they lost a war they should have won given their proximity to the Falklands relative to the UK's I am surprised they don't find the whole thing rather embarrassing and shut up about it. Why do they want to keep reminding the world that they lost a war when they had everything in their favour (apart from the skill and B@lls of the British Armed Forces).

We should invade Argentina for the fun of it:eek:.......it would give all us non footballers something to watch on Tv.......only joking! I don't think the Argentina would have the balls to try occupation again especially after getting beat first time round and I am sure world politics would also have something to say?

I am sure world politics would also have something to say?

you'd think so but iirc from last time round America got all worried about the hispanic vote and refused to give us any overt help - saying that NATO commitments didnt apply outside of the North Atlantic (which to be fair was the same justification we gave for not getting involved in Vietnam)

We should invade Argentina for the fun of it:eek:.......?

nevermind the Argentine lets invade France .. the pas de calais and a large chunk of normandy are 'ours' anyway (that is in the same spurious way the la malvinas 'belong' to argentina)

the only harriers currenly in the inventory are GR9 and Gr7 both meant for ground attack - i'm sure they'd try, but they arent built for mixing it up with mirages and such

We have no harriers, end of story. They were all withdrawn from RAF/RN use 4 or so years ago.

Could we retake the Islands? No, but the idea isn't to loose them in the first place.
In order to invade, our South American friends would have to fight for it this time. Last time they faced 80 (?) or so Royal Marines, and still found it hard work.

This time, there's 4 Typhoons, plus the reinforcements that would fly in in any build up. Remember that the Argie forces are in a far worse state than ours, so any build up would be protracted, not to mention obvious.

The new Type 46 Destroyers if deployed would make a mess of what little Argie air force there is, anything that got through that screen wouldn't last long against a Typhoon.

Lastly the only way in for them is boat. We have SSGM's, and look how well the last encounter with one of them ended for Argentine. They have very little effective ASW, so they would be exceptionally vulnerable. Most of the Royal Navy Frigates have Harpoon now as well, which outranges anything they have. In effect a surface invasion force would be doing it Belgrano style.

As for Scamrons bottle? No, he has none, but if we lost them again, he would be finished.

I read something the other day that sums it up.

Argentine Mainland Radar: Unidentified Aircraft, you are in Argentine Airspace".

Aircraft: "No, I am in International Airspace"

Radar:"Vacate our Airspace or will will launch fighters"

Aircraft "I am a British Typhoon, I'll wait"
