Germany 1938/39?
Seems a good enough reason to meddle in the affairs of other countries. Extreme example I know.
I'm suggesting the Mattador has a choice to fight, a bit like a footballer has a choice to play football. I couldn't give a rats ass about the bull, sorry.
Don't be sorry.....my offer still stands.
I'll do it if you will![]()
True enoughIt's certainly not for us to interfere. We can have opinions on it but really it's for the Spanish to decide if they want to keep it.
But don't get me started on skin-headshave I been stereotyped because of my avatar and signature (again).![]()

............ or have I been stereotyped because of my avatar and signature (again).![]()
Now why on earth would that avatar lead anyone to think of anything but fluffy bunnies and marshmallows?
PMSL.How?? You've probably been duped by all the media [PLEASE DON'T TRY TO BYPASS THE SWEAR FILTER] over the years like most folk who don't understand what it's all about. I'll boot yer nutz yah bass

PMSL.
You and I are of a similar age,
I lived through it all too
But preferred to keep my hair for (and as) as long as possible
(Sadly its a loosing battle these day)
And I preferred a leather jacket to a cromby, two tone tonics and Doc Martins![]()
When you are big enough your'll be too oldLong hair, leather jackets ????? I'll deffo have to boot yer nutz. Greaser, grebo mess!!![]()
Have funMy best petrol blue Tonic suit (bespoke, none of yer off the peg/made to measure crap) will be getting an airing tomorrow at my brothers daughters wedding. Nice white button down Ben Sherman Oxford weave shirt, pair of highly polished Royals brogues, paisley pattern cravat and matching three point fold down pocket square, yellow socks and of course a pair of 1/2 inch braces. Sharp as.![]()
I love all the self-righteous indignation in these threads. I bet not one of the (steak-eating, leather-wearing) antis here has written to their MEP or the Spanish or French embassies. Not one of them feels strongly enough about it to wave a placard outside the amphitheatre in Nîmes or Plaza de Toros in Valencia. It's just hot air.
Feel strongly about it? Then instead of writing the usual gutless rubbish (like "I love seeing them gored"), actually DO something about it.
Unless you don't really care THAT much or course.....
Lastly for those of you that say you enjoy or would enjoy seeing the maiming or death of a fellow human being; is that the level a bull-fighting aficionado has to rise up to? One moment you pin the "barbaric" badge on bullfighting, then next moment you tell us you'd delight in seeing a man maimed. Who's barbaric?
I'm calm. I'm having a good old chuckle at your expense!Oh do calm down dear, you'll give yourself a turn![]()

Didn't know they did them in Portugal too. I'm off there in September. If I get the chance I'll be taking one in too.
Take pictures, you'll need a long lens I reckon, 200mm plus.

Yeh, I'll probably use the 100-400. Should cover it![]()
Unless you are going to a huge plaza like Las Ventas in Madrid or La Real Maestranza in Sevilla a 200mm will be plenty.I've got nothing like that gear wise, I will stock up. I mainly do landscapes/cityscapes. Perhaps a lens hire for my holiday is way to go, something upto 500mm would be ideal.
I'd be driving over in 2016 anyway, so luggage ain't an issue. The CO2 might kill a few polar bears though....![]()

Bloody global warming. I blame the hippies. We should maybe pitch them against the bulls. Now I'd deffo pay to see that.![]()
Doesn't matter where they do it, it is still barbaric.
herd a bull into the ring, provike it, then stick shark spikes into its shoulders and finally when it is too exhausted and maimed to do anything about it run it through with a sword ... brave matadors???
I think not, animal torturers ... this has nothing to do with 'culture', these are the actions of a barbarous people, and as for those who watch it as a spectacle ... no doubt Christians before lions would have been equally as entertaining!
So what have you done to eradicate it?
Equating bullfighting with female genital mutilation is laughable Gramps. Surely even you can see that? Some African countries have the same cultural view of FGM, though I'm not aware of it being a spectacle - do you think that should remain as it's 'cultural', 'heritage', 'customs' etc ... or do you think that it is barbaric and should be stopped?

That's a soft answer Gramps. The bottom line is that despite your indignation you have done NOTHING against it. Bravo you.One person cannot eradicate it, however unlike you I do nothing to perpetuate it.
Ah, so compared to you the Spanish. the Sourhern French and many South American peoples are "backward". You sound like Nigel Farage!I don't think it is laughable at all, both are barbaric and actions of a backward people.

As I said, you have done NOTHING against it.Nothing soft at all. I don't support it, pay to watch it and I speak out about it as I am doing now ... I cannot control what happens in the barbaric areas of this world - you are just deflecting criticism from something that is barbaric animal torture and that you enjoy watching.
How someone can enjoy animal torture for entertainment is beyond my understanding and nothing that you can say or do will change it from being the barbaric animal torture that it is.
As I said, you have done NOTHING against it.
Don't care who I sound like, anyone who enjoys seeing animals tortured is wanting in morality.
Eh? I am in favour of it and I attend it.What have you done other than support actively the torture of the animals?
