Is there anyway that I can find out the system health status of my 2012 iMac?
Every so often when I plug my iPhone (it's done it on 4s and 5s ...both different cables) into my apple wired KeyBoard I get several pop up messages telling me that too much power is being drawn and that USB is being shut down, As I say it's totally random and I can't reproduce it on demand. Further to that The keyboard has actually stopped working completely a couple of times.
It did it today and the keyboard wouldn't start working again until the machine had been restarted 3 times ! I'd tried changing the USB cable to other ports between restarts, but it was actually back in the original port when it started working again, so this rules out the phones, cables or keyboard as being an issue in my mind which only leaves an internal issue within the USB side of the logic board
Luckily I took out apple care when I bought it
So......do they keep error logs anywhere?
