Yes
So, I've currently got a late 2011 15" Macbook pro, i7/8gb/500gb with Snow Leopard which is my everyday machine for just about everything :)

I skipped the Lion upgrade, from what I heard it had several kinks which needed ironing out. Likewise, I didn't bother with Mountain Lion straight away. Since the update to ML has been released (10.8.1), people seem quite positive about the whole thing.
Is it worth the £13.99 to update?

Also, a couple of potentially silly questions.. :p

I've got a WD Mybook set up with Time Machine for my backups, and an old portable WD hard drive for 'archive' stuff. If I decide to upgrade to ML, I should still be able to use these without issues?

Also, a big one - software and data! I've got stuff like Office, Photoshop, itunes etc all set up and working how I like them. I've also got a bunch of data on here (although it is backed up with Time Machine). As far as I understand it, upgrading to ML will only change the system's OS files and folders - it should leave my software and data untouched?

It would be interesting to get some of your points of view! :D

At under £14 I would definitely say so.

The Mountain Lion upgrade works brilliantly, although if you can, i'd always recommend doing a clean install. Which you CAN do with Mountain Lion :)
