I just comment on a post a similar question but thought that it would make an intersing thread to see what others think...

I don't know if other have noticed this but during migration time I have often seen Ospreys flying down motorwas as Ive been driving and I know a few of my friends haven noticed this... Maybe they use the motorways to find there way, I know they follow rivers but motorways are like a tarmac river I suppose...

Any Thoughts???

Thanks Lee Harrison

Personaly i don't think they follow roads. We may think they do as its the most common place to see them as its were the humans are.

How many of us are walking in the middle of nowhere? They are though:)

My most intimate observation of a Osprey was in such a location, in the middle of nowhere in southern Spain on the return migration. The only road was a dirt track for miles and miles (poor rental car;) )

Rivers make sense as they always need food durring the migration. As do canals, they seam to hunt differently in these.

Well thats my thoughts on the matter but I am no expert.
