Oscar Pistorius 'shoots girlfriend'

And why are people assuming that he is guilty anyway? We just don't know.

Well the SA police obviously think there is enough evidence to charge him with murder....

Obviously I am going by media reports but suggestions are that they were the only 2 people in the house, the police are "surprised" by the " i thought it was a burglar" response and there appears to have been a bit of "history" at the address.....

There appears to be a 'bit of history' if you read the SA press, full stop as far as Pistorius is concerned! :suspect:

I know it doesn't make any real difference but she was such a good looking woman. What a way to go, such a shame.

deleted - 2nd thoughts on a bad taste joke

I caught a glimpse of this on the news and the Policewoman giving the interview was a "Brigadier" bit of an ott title:thinking:

SA police have military rankings

Aah;) Still tho

Police have examined footprints found at the scene and arrested a hatstand.

you owe me a new keyboard - mine now has coffee all over it

And the oscar goes to ................jail

Seriously.. I cannot see how he can be anything less than guilty sitting by a pile of poo, if what I have read on bbc, reuters, and several SA sources are true.

Shocking.

it was self defence, he thought she'd pulled a blade :whistling:

:schtum:

I absolutely, definitely did not laugh at all while reading this thread.

No, absolutely not. Me neither.

:naughty:

That aside. Bloody tragedy.

You have to feel for the family of the victim, whatever really happened.

He shot her because she failed her Voigt-Kampff Test.

A rumour I heard today was that he's shot her 4 times through the bathroom door.

Whilst I don't know how credible this info is but it would back up the reports that there was screaming and shouting around the time of the shooting.

.

that explains it then, we've all been there

you return home legless only to find the missus taking far too much time in the bathroom - its enough to make you pist o' wi hers :coat:

Interesting if true - was Oscar a 'roider?

Police asked for blood taken from Mr Pistorius to be tested for steroids, City Press claimed, in anticipation that his defence team might claim he acted in “roid rage” – an aggressive condition associated with taking large doses of performance-enhancing drugs.
A source told The Sun: “Steroid drugs were found at Pistorius’s home together with evidence of heavy drinking. That’s why police have specifically ordered that he be tested for steroids.”

There's no such thing as roid rage, it's just an excuse used by idiots who do stupid things whilst using.

Thanks doc!
I believe some cases have been pretty well documented though.

erm

The minor side effects of steroid use include acne, oily skin, excess hair growth, and deepening of the voice. The major side effects of steroid use include an increased risk of cancer, increased risk of heart and liver disease, jaundice, fluid retention, reduction in HDL-C (“good cholesterol”), high blood pressure, changes in blood coagulation, increased risk of atherosclerosis, swelling of the soft tissues of the extremities (edema), and obstructive sleep apnea.
Side effects specific to men can include testicular atrophy or the shrinking of the testicles, reduced sperm count, infertility, baldness, and the development of breasts. For women, side effects can include enlargement of the clitoris, changes in the body contour growth of facial hair, disruption of the menstrual cycle, deepened voice and infertility.
An increase in androgenic (male) hormones may also lead to aggressive behavior. Research also indicates that steroid users often suffer from paranoid jealousy, extreme irritability, delusions, and impaired judgment stemming from feelings of invincibility..

and

Scientists have attempted to test the association between anabolic steroids and aggression by administering high steroid doses or placebo for days or weeks to human volunteers and then asking the people to report on their behavioral symptoms. To date, four such studies have been conducted. In three, high steroid doses did produce greater feelings of irritability and aggression than did placebo, although the effects appear to be highly variable across individuals. In one study, the drugs did not have that effect. One possible explanation, according to the researchers, is that some but not all anabolic steroids increase irritability and aggression. Recent animal studies show an increase in aggression after steroid administration

and

•Regular users may find that they start having trouble sleeping. They may get paranoid, or may experience dramatic mood swings; and even violence can occur alongside strong feelings of aggression.

That last text from BSM is exactly what Oscar will be enduring now............the 'trouble sleeping' part ...........

What a load of cods.......every part of those quotes are ifs, buts, and mays.............well I may be hungry!

its obviously a may - because as from the second quote theres a big variation accross users , some suffer from jealousy, agression etc, some don't

but saying " There's no such thing as roid rage" would imply that no users experience it, which the evidence does not support

but they may be suffering from those symptoms anyway.... just an excuse if you ask me and that is my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

By the way, I dropped my samsung galaxy sII today and I have got Android rage!

"Have you heard about that paralympic runner chap? He's been accused of horifically murdering his girlfriend!"

"Pistorius?"

"No, steroids apparently."

If you're an angry man roids will make you more angry. If you mix them with alcohol then you will find your rages become uncontrollable.

This does not mean every roid user will have rages, like all drugs the side affects vary in strength and symptom from user to user...

I don't think that anyone is sayng that all roid users succumb to rage.
But to say that they cannot cause rage in some people is daft.
