O's have been saved from oblivion

I'm not an O's fan, but pleased for you. Too many not fit to own owners in British football, pleased you've got shot of yours (y)

Might not mean much to many people, but it does to me and with all the doom and gloom about just wanted to share some joy

Great news for you. From 45 mins away from the Championship to non-league - this should be the start of the comeback. My orient supporting boss has already informed staff of disciplinary action for anyone purchasing Crispy Cremes and not Dunking Donuts!

I suspect you will enjoy the next few seasons now. When my team (QPR) dropped down 2 divisions from the Premier League, we had administration, only 9 pros on the books shortly before the season started, but Holloway came in and the next 2 seasons were amazing the most together the manager, players and fans have ever been together - I long for those days and hope you get them!

Thank you both, it's a long way back and very hard to get out of the conference.

We are still in existence which is the main thing, looked decidedly dodgy for a while there.
I know someone who is a QPR fan and know how worried he was with all the dodgy dealings going on

Onwards and upwards, loads of new places to visit next season and for the first time for a few years I'm looking forward to it

This is very good news Rich. Not just for the Os but football in General. I remember telling you that my dad took me to my first game at Brisbane Road.

2003/04, one of my favourite seasons as an Rs fan.

I do remember Marc, I was there too, Boxing Day 1972, O's won 2-0 and crowd of about 20,000, those were the days. We also reached the FA Cup qtr finals that season, beat Chelsea 3-2 before losing 0-1 to Arsenal, some things never change

I knew there was a reason I had a soft spot for them. :D

That was one hell of a game, all ticket crowd of 31,000 crammed into Brisbane Road and losing 0-2 to a team that had players like Osgood,Harris,Webb and Bonetti.
Mud heap of a pitch, pulled one back just before half time, equalized just after and got the winner with a couple of minutes to go.

Probably my favourite game from watching the O's since 1966, just pleased to watch any game next season, honestly thought we were done

This is the key point. When you've been through what you've been through the want to go just gets sapped out of you. Happier times definitely to look forward to!

So good - and lots of QPR fans in the team helped of course.

I am with you to a point - Cambridge fan and we went through some rubbish in the last 12 years, although not quite as bad as the O's. Poor management, administration, ground sell off, poor choice in managers... thank goodness we got on a better footing in the Conference and fr Richard Money who got us up, and won a cup and got a reply with Man U away!

The conference is tough, I think there is nothing between those below 11th in the league and the top half of the conference. Some of the bigger teams have now left the conference but there are still some dangerous sides around. Good luck!

Still not got over your lot beating us in the Div4 play-offs in 1989...

However, looking forward to my first visit to Brisbane Road, at least it's another nice ground in the Conference, too many prima donnas down here who've come up from North/South.

It's our 10th season here now, difficult to believe we are the most established Conf Premier team now.

What pleases me most is that assuming you are in the Conf Premier next year it doesn't give teams who were relegated a lifeline - TAKE THAT Gary Mills! you 'orrible orange man.

Thank you, I remember all the problems at Cambridge, chap where I worked was the one who gave all the supporters trust info to the papers and radio, think his name was Dave Jones
Just hope we return one day, think we will with an owner who is a proper fan and some money to be spent sensibly this time

I went to both legs of that play off final, second one at our place was a blistering hot day, thought we were going to lose on the away goals rule until the late winner (sorry, we have lost the three since then though so know how it feels)

We will be there, new owner, manager and players, just hope our crowd holds up. Think it will, did last year so nothing can be worse than that surely?

Things would have been very different for Burnley if they'd lost this game against The O's

Remember it well, was there hoping we got the win we needed to make the play offs.
Great atmosphere and could have gone either way, sort of glad a team with so much history stayed in the league.
Years later it happened again this time we needed a win for promotion and Oxford needed three points to stay in the league.
Our turn that day, bit surreal celebrating whilst they got relegated, swings and roundabouts I suppose

Yeah a great atmosphere & the game is still spoken about on a regular basis.

An old fashioned club in many ways, but very well run & debt free.
(funnily enough, I know there are a few Clarets fans in your area too)

Hopefully the O's can now build and move onwards & upwards.
