Was out yesterday with wife and grandkids at a motorshow at Knockhill. I could'nt have asked for a more horrible sky to be taking photos with. Gray sort of misty and bright with the sun trying to get through and completely featureless. Most shots I tried at varying exposures almost all resulted in the highlights flashing on the histogram on lcd. That and too many people, and trying to take a decent shot of something I more or less gave up, and stowed the camera away and concentrated on giving the kids a good time.

Does anyone else here have similar days where they give up and put the camera away ?

If the sky is grey and murky I try to avoid getting it in shot if possible, get in closer and use your imagination :)

I'm wijoo, its poop, misty wishywashy, flat grey crap.
Shot some oilseed rape fields on velvia today, I want a banging blue sky to contrast that bonkers yellow, but its not happening:(
at least its bright....*moan grumble......*

need an 82mm polarizing filter......:|

Grey featureless cloud seems to be the main feature around here (Plymouth) recently, it's really annoying when you want to go out and take some landscapes as it's just boring and destroys the whole of your shot.

When it next happens if we all think happy thoughts maybe it'll go away?
