Ordered myself a DSLR ---- finally

YAY, after contemplating for a while I brought myself a Sony A200 DSLR today, can't wait for it to arrive & start snapping

Having read reviews & seen the Flikr examples (No 1 of all Sony camera on Flikr), this was the best camera I could get for my money!

Managed to get it for £185 inc 8GB card and 18-70mm kit lens
 
I'm not really one for sony cameras, but that does sound like a cracking deal! Congrats :)
 
The A200 is a nice camera - it's what I started with, and is certainly enough to get enough good results to get you hooked into the hobby.

A good couple of lenses to add to your bag (once you've some spare cash again) are the Minolta 50 f1.7 - nice sharp lens, good for low light, and the Minolta / Sony 75-300 or Sigma / Tamron 70-300 - any of these will get reasonable performance and 300mm reach fro under £200.
 
yeah the sony camera's are superb, a few for your kit bag are;

minolta 50mm f1.7 (£100)
minolta 70-210mm f4 (£150)
minolta 28mm f2.8 (£100)

these are three brilliant lenses for the money.
 
The A200 is a cracking camera and I hope you really enjoy it.

Nowt wrong with Sony.
I had an a300 for a bit, and to this day miss the tilting live view screen :(

It does not really matter what make your camera is, just get out and enjoy :)
