To be fair the article says nothing about a room, only a vat of curry and a bin....as well as "at" a food factory rather than "in"
Perhaps the curry was outside the building awaiting disposal

Well as they are usually on the "go" dawn till dusk, and I doubt the beak gets up that early, I would image so TBH .

Maybe a similar tactic could be used by seaside councils & fish & chip establishments.
If young gulls can be caught & dipped in vats of vinegar, then sprinkled liberally with salt & then squirted with tomato ketchup, it should dissuade them from mugging tourists.
