Don't fight it, enjoy it. There are few enough reasons to smile these days so if I can cause someone to crack a smile every now and then, my presence on this earth is not wasted.

I put her out to work during the day so she doesn't see much TV. Songs of Praise on a Sunday before I let her have her weekly bath if she's behaved during the week.

Back to the OP's banana issues, I wouldn't bother as she's bound to have changed her mind for something else now. That was just that moments purchase impluse, which is how I assume I end up with a house full of stuff that's not worn or used...
 
If you find one you'll have to tell her that you followed the carnival around the country trying again and again to win it for her, you can't admit to just spending cash you have to pretend to put effort in ;)
