OptimusBri's self portrait 365

It's not one of Simon and Garfunkel's is it?

Not that I recall. But then my memory is going. Will remember one day.

Another good image for the set today. Are you going to keep going on self portraits? I think I'd like to see how you cope applying your style to directing and photographing others.

Thank you :)
I think I am actually. It wasn't my original idea at all, but I'm enjoying it a lot more than I thought. Also I think it's a lot more challenging than just having to take a photo of anything at all each day. I feel like that's a bit too easy and I want to push myself. I hope it pays off in the end!

Well best of luck to you. If you complete the year it'll make a great photo book.

Lots and lots more snow fell today so I took this opportunity to take my self portrait.

Oh I do love the snow :)

Another absolute stunner. Truly awesome.

You're getting good at the self-portraits!
You're defiantly a photographer to watch!

Fantastic. Your best yet. Nice hat :)

2 and 3 for me are amazing good luck for the year keep it up

I'm worrying a bit about what I'll do for my self portraits when I go back to Uni on Sunday actually...I will no longer have an entire house, a garden, and lots of nice footpaths and fields to go and take my photos in as I please

Oh well, it's a challenge I guess. I may have to start planning ahead for what I'm going to do :)

Very good. I should've tried something like this rather than wildlife... mind you my lens would crack when it sees me! :D

Hey,

It's a brilliant effort. No need to worry at all!
I love the whole concept of the picture too.

Hope you're feeling better today, and you return to Uni safely. (=

great image...i like grainy! would be good in b&w...

I really like the last one, I think it would be good if you combined it with a long exposure of the clock sow you got movement in the minute hands, a sort of time ticking by thing.

Thank you all :)
I might try out the clock idea, I didn't think of doing that!

Thanks for the comments, and I do feel better today. Got back to Uni fine, although I left my camera in my Dad's van! I only realised about an hour after he left (at about 9 at night) so I had to get him to turn round and come back to give it to me. I felt so bad. I've never been so glad to have my camera back though!

Is it day 10 already?

Day 9 - I'm intrigued to know what you're staring at or thinking in all these images. the idea of the clock hands moving is a good one but would probably require a composite image to achieve unless you can stand really still for 5 minutes or more :)

Day 10 - Are you a Dollhouse fan? Looks like one of the beds/pods from that series, although I'm guessing it's more likely a wardrobe you're standing in. Still liking your ethereal processing, you almost look detached in them.

Day 9 - I was just staring up on to a blank bit of wall above my camera. I just felt so tired and fed up of everything that day. I had to leave in a rush to get back to Uni, I didn't get to say goodbye to my boyfriend, then I forgot my camera, and nothing seemed to be going right. So that photo was me sad, tired and at a loss of what to do...

Day 10 - Dollhouse? No idea what that is! And yes it is my wardrobe. I don't really know what inspired me to clear out my wardrobe and take some shots in it. I thought it would look rather good I guess. In the end, I think I kind of wanted the shot to say 'hold on, we'll be alright'. That's the caption I put for it on my Flickr account anyway. And that's why I wanted the bear included, so I had something to hold on to.

I guess they aren't the happiest of images. I will be more positive next time

I'm not too good at explaining my ideas and photos yet...ideas pop in to my head and I just go for it :)

Nowt wrong with any of that, most importantly you don't look like a **** in your self portraits, which I think is a good effort as I always do.

day 10 is a dedicatio to you btw, apart from I enlisted a pair of assistants (one who actually took the shot. OK it's not really much like yours, but it does have me in it so its kinda a self portrait?

Aw that's very nice of you to have dedicated a photo to me :)
And I've seen it - it is still a self portrait even though someone else took the shot. I think this is mostly a matter of opinion but I think that as long as they didn't alter the shot or give you any direction, and all they did was press the button, then it's fine :)

I really like week nine :D
I think the way its OFF and grainy adds to the effect of your tired and dosey due to lack of sleep - if you get what I mean? :D

Thanks Daniel

looking good so far love the clock one works really well

wow, i find day 10 is quite a disturbing picture. quite a dark feel to it...keep it up the sp's are great!

glad you got your camera back! :-)

like the grainy feel to number 9.. look forward to seeing more

Another cracker! Lovely texture in this brought out with the soft light.

you really are rocking the natural light in this set Briony :D

What about thinking about home made diffusers and reflectors (tinfoil and bedsheets) right now the light is nice and soft from the clouds so windows are just great sources but it'll get harder later on

On that last photo the light was actually from my computer screen and my gorillatorch (with a piece of white paper over it so the light wasn't so harsh) :)

I have never tried out my own reflectors or anything really...not sure where to start with them in regards to where to position them, etc. I'll have to give it a go some time soon though I think.

Feeling so very frustrated with myself this afternoon. Just spent the last hour looking on Flickr (it's way too distracting) and I found so many amazing self portraits, and I'm annoyed that I'm not up to that standard yet!

I know I know it takes time and practice. But it's frustrating all the same. Especially when I feel like I can't go outside anywhere to take my self portraits as I'm in the middle of the city and all I want is nice sunsets, fields, woods, and snow to take my photos in. And I want privacy, I don't really want loads of people staring at me posing for my camera! So for now I am stuck in my room :bang:

Today's 365 coming shortly *sigh* ...

Hey! Don't be frustrated! Its no fun when you're frustrated!?

I know what you mean about the city though... When I'm on my own in the middle of norwich with my camera taking pictures (not of myself) I get some real weird looks off people...!

As always I look very much forward to todays picture... and trust me, in my opinion your self-portraits are some of the best and most natural I've ever seen.

Keep your chin up! ;)

... Not sure what to do for mine today though. Can't wait til spring when the light comes back in the evening. (=

That's quite a compliment, thank you :)
Yeh I can't wait until spring/summer too!

See... Pure brilliance. Another absolute stunner. Great eyes. Interestingly clear refletion, great composition...
And Black and White! :D

This photo just backs up what I said before. You're undoubtably one to watch. (=
