im looking at doing some more band shoots and i plan to give them some low res watermarked images that they can use on the likes of facebook etc etc,with the option of them to buy the high res un-watermarked copies if they like them when i've processed the pictures i take in lightroom il be exporting one set as high res ( for purchase) and one set low res but what is the best size to use for the low res, so that they look decent but not that large that they could blow up and use elsewere

If it was me, I'd be giving them 600 pixel (longest side) low res images. Certainly no more than 800.

Facebook is 720 on the longest side. I'd export the watermarked to that personally.
