Optech Straps

Blimey - I'm dreading getting mine now - it's going to take me three weeks to work out how it buckles isn't it!

Sorry paul you're wrong! my buckle is attached to my strap permanently by stitching! !

You men!!

Sorry Janice I dind't realise you got your strap when you were born  - It must have a different strap malarkey so its not you (or me) its the strap - You can see why they changed to this version :naughty:
Paul ;)

I think they must have changed the set up since Janice got hers  It was really and straightforward to thread/buckle - so easy that even I managed to do it... and my camera hasn't fallen off once :)

Mine's arrived, and I'm relieved to say it looks wonderfully simple to attach to the camera! :D

That's why I couldnt manage it.........because I'm wonderfully simple! :D

Sounds like they probably had some complaints and changed the design.
New one for me then! ;)

Have to admit...it is wonderfully comfortable especially in the summer with a t-shirt, the Canon one cuts into your neck. It unclips easily too which is great for verticle shots, in studio etc.
But...I cant help loving the looks of the Canon!! :D

Ah well...this is either going to make you laugh or very annoyed!!

It's not not the Optech strap I have...its the Lowepro one!

  :cuckoo: :cuckoo: :geek:   :bang:

Iv'e been watching this thread and that is such a funny ending.

I will buy myself an OPTECH one then....and let's hear no more about it!! :D

Sorry, but Im still wetting my pants here Janice

... and I have a sneaky feeling they wont let you live this one down any time soon! ;)

...this is actually the least of my worries,,,,my boss just said "Janice, your car is half way across the road"!

I went out and looked and it had been parked in its spot for 4 hrs with the handbrake off....then decided it was going to roll backwards across the road and luckily with a bit of wheel lock on, rolled to a halt 2 feet from a parked van!!!

I told my boss that being a woman at least I admitted the handbrake was left off....if Id been a man Id have said it was definitely on but must've malfunctioned!! :D

omg Janice, go home and lie down for a while. Sounds like nothing is going right at the minute. PMSL.

Oh this is just run of the mill stuff for me.........Im a walking disaster area!
At least I give others a laugh along the way...thats whats important!

I think having 3 jobs and running a house and family single handed is a bit more than my old brain can stand!

I will update you on the strap when I get it.....if I need help with the buckle, I know where to come!! :D

Ah well...this is either going to make you laugh or very annoyed!!

     That is Classic...thanks for providing me with a good laugh - and making my stomach hurt :nono:

Did you go for the "Classic" or the "pro" ?

Give me a break!! Ive been too busy "Chasing Cars" as Snow Patrol would say....to even order!

WHats the diff between the two..........to finally get back to straps!! :D

I think the pro strap has little rubber dots on the underside for better grip (now, now!) and can accomodate more weight, whereas the classic is just the bogstandard cheapy strap. I have 2 classics which suit my needs well (plus they were the cheaper option, and being northern and all that, cheap is always good )

Hmmm "bog standard and cheap" just about describes me.........I think I'll get one of those then! :D

Pro Strap for sure!
Been using optech straps on bodies/bags for ages now. They're cool!
My next mission: Ustrap. Apparently, it's even better.

I've had the worst day ever but gettig back to the office and reading this thread has cheered me up no end. Janice, you're a star :)

Many moons ago at the start of this thread I mentioned that the "Classic" was a bit lightweight for my D200 having been fine on my D50 - As you have a 30D which is nearly as heavy as a D200 I'd say pay the extra pound you tight-wad & get the "Pro" (prices based on HERE btw & business run by another loony woman )
Paul ;)

Paul ;)

ANOTHER? Whatever do you mean?? And Paul, it's Loobylins, not Loonylins in case you hadnt noticed!!! ;)

Dont like the look of the Pro...and you know how we women only buy things for what they look like!

My husband used to have a cycle shop, and he would sometimes tell me all the things a bike had on it which made it good....I would say...I like the colour!! LOL

Loobylins Loonylins Loonybins whatever - Linda (the boss) is as mad as a fish! - Don't like the "Pro" eh - Why does this not suprise me? - Perhaps they do one fo their straps in pink or jade  - Anyway stick with OpTech as at least you'll know how to put the chuffin' thing on your camera ... Paul ;)

OOooh harsh, Paul, harsh! :'( I'm deeply offended....NOT!

A bit like you!!  :whistling:

yes but I think the Pro only come in black...which is what he was on about!!

EXACTLY! bog standard and cheap...that's us!!

(woops, perhaps I shouldnt have included you in that broad sweeping statement!!)

Two out of three there Janice - My wife says I'm yummy not yukky!!
Get the dinky "Classic" then & you'll match Min of course :D
Paul ;)

Hmmm ... tough choice!! Do Ii want to match Min, or be chunky and yummy!

I could do both with a Lowepro!! :D  :nono:

Janice youre killing me today ... one of your 3 jobs isnt a being comedienne is it.

Oooh no, I forgot that one, that makes 4 jobs!! LOL

Hmmm! I like the sound of more grip myself :naughty:

MMmmmm so do I ! ;) :naughty: No good slipping at the last minute! :D
