Afternoon all

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with these sling type straps?

Obviously one of them is over twice the price, but would the Q Strap be ok?

Haven't got much money to play around with at the moment, but don't want to end up having to pay for an Optech one after i've bought a Q Strap.

It would have to carry a Nikon D5000 gripped and a Nikon 70-300 VR.

Also does anyone have any measurements for the straps? Trying to find out how comfy they would be for an ........ahem... slightly portly chap. :D

Thanks for looking in.

How portly are you? i am 18 stone and have a q strap. fits fine....well made and i have used it everyday with a d200, grip and flash unit. Hope this helps.

I'm portly and tall (6ft 4) and found the Q strap was no good, it wasn't comfy on me, and the camera sat in a very silly was under my arm.

I gave the Q Strap to my colleague who is shorter and thiner, and he loves it.

I asked the dealer if they did a bigger Q Strap but unfortunately not, so I'm now wondering about an R strap

The Q strap looks like a cut price copy of the R strap - I would not want to shave a few pounds off the price of a strap and risk something that could fail.

5' 9" and around 15 stone. Mainly beer gut.

Sounds like it'll be ok.

Cheers.

So was it just your height that made it sit awkwardly?

I've started a similar thread too, I'm leaning towards the Optech strap for that very reason I believe a few extra pounds invested may just be worth it in the long run & be lees likely to fail and damage my camera or lens !!

This is what i'm worried about. The price rises each time from Q Strap - Optech - R Strap and as I said i'm a bit short of funds.

On the other hand I don't want one that will fail. :(

Didn't see your thread mate.

I'll close this one and tag along on yours if that's ok.
