Opinion - Will this be ok for a passport?

You have already posted this elsewhere...I don't know is my answer but I would err on No.

I think they're a lot less critical of the photo for young children. Let's face it, in 6 months he won't look anything like that anyway :)

Not an expert, but I think that you'll need a closer crop around the head to remove the torso.

Here is the Template I use. Needs to be a tighter crop.

Think there is website called as passpic.com.

If you upload your photos there, think they make necessary alteration for home office passport photo standards, print, and, post the photos to you. As far as i know wasn't expensive last time.

they are a lot more lenient with children's photos - my daughter was 3 when her passport photo was taken so was done in a booth. Her head fills the frame significantly less then this, is cocked to one side and she is smirking

Looks fine to me

(my son is older but I remember lying a plain white curtain on the floor and taking a number of shots on a good old fashioned film camera and cutting the most appropriate one to fit  )

I would probably crop his head a little tighter but otherwise its a true representation of the child which is mainly what they ask for.

Other than a little tighter crop I'd think that was spot on.

Happy little camper by the looks of it too :D
