Ever since the last Thunderbird up date(s) I've noticed a few slight changes.
The most annoying, I use a few web browsers, non are set to "default"
I often use Opera, though.

I've recently noticed that TB keeps hanging.
After a few minutes, It wouldn't download, it won't open or close, once open, without re-starting the PC.

The solution I found was to make FF my default browser.
That's a bit norty I thought.

I'm not really looking for an answer,
I can still use the others, for what ever, I'm just relating the fact that FF is beginning to act like the early IE.

It's always annoying when software you trust gets "improved" so that it no longer behaves as it should.

What's worse is when you don't know if it's the application or the operating system that's playing up... :(

I don't think there is a best browser. They all sometimes are a pain for example I can't use argos website on chrome I am pretty sure that most people can - but for some reason I can't.
I just use firefox - life is too short to mess around with browsers.

I agree, however I need them when issue appears on here, to check if its a browser or something else.
I just thought that it was ab it norty of FF blocking opera from opening TB

I realise that this may be an unfashionable thing to say, but I’ve never had a problem with Microsoft’s browsers. I guess I’m not particularly demanding.

BTW I use Thunderbird, and have never had a problem with it in combination with Edge

Horses for courses :)
What I don't like about edge.
When I run CC cleaner, it tells me to close edge, and then force it to close.
I haven't used edge from one clean to the next.
Intrusive? just a tad.

Have you got the latest TB?
I'm happily running TB with my ntl email and a Gmail account. I do have FF as default though. No issues to date :)

I'm up to date.
The Last couple of updates, is the point it went pear shaped over this.
TB works fine with all my mail addresses.
Assuming that I use FF as default browser.

Do you mean that you need both active at the same time?

If so, perhaps Thunderbird is relying on a library that only gets loaded by Firefox, which would be odd I admit.

Most strange... I hope you can get it sorted.

As above Paul, no big deal, I just thought it was odd that as FF was not my default browser
That TBH basically crashed.

No, I just need FF set to be my default browser.
I can open TB independently
I've checked and Thunderbird appears to still use some of the Mozilla libraries also used by Firefox, so there may be a version interaction problem.

If the problem is a pain, it might be worth posting a message on the Thunderbird support site...

As above its not really an issue, it was more a heads up than anything.
Thanks for the link.
