Opened Ink - head storage

Does it matter how long opened Ink, being kept in the printer head is good for, or should I wait until I am ready to do multiple prints ?

printers hate not being used, its what causes the most problems.

my Epson ecotanks dont dry up , and cheap to run

Present Canon Pixma Pro 100S and previous Pixma 9000 printers have never posed problems for me when not used, sometimes for several months.
No clogged ink jets and no visible issues on the prints.
Cannot offer opions on other makes of printer though.

I use an Epson ecotank 1800 and a ecotank et-2500 , with no problems

Thanks, mine's an Epson XP-15000, i was looking at continuous systems after the 6 pack that came with it.
