OMG!!!

You have found JUST what i'm looking for! Thanks mfwild!!!
Im signing up to this right away!!!

I studied with them for a few years, one thing about OU courses is that they are very well put together. They are not cheap but the support is second to none.

I can't get to the site either from work or from home at the moment, I think there might be a fairly large telewest issue somewhere.

155 notes is not that expensive, its no more expensive than going to a company for say 'how to take portraits'. At least this way you get to get something towards a qualification. :D

That's a good linky Mark ... thanks for sharing it with us as I am sure others will be signing up too ... maybe even me ... ... well I do seriously need something to boot me up the proverbial ... :D

:p

:agree: - on all counts & might get er indoors to pay for it if i'm lucky

Not yet unfortunately although it is still quiet following the Christmas break, a lot of people are not back to work yet.

Some recruitment consultants are absolute tossers, most of whom remind me of photocopier salesmen. :bang:

Only some ... :D

Best of luck with it Col ... I know it can be very trying and sometimes difficult to sort quickly ... ;)

:p

Oops sorry, are you in the business then?

Dear me NO ... !

It was purely a statement of my own experience of the same businesses ...

Gotta be better than Red Lights Matt ... ... GLD is owned by Grolsch too if I am not mistaken ... hic ... ;)

:p

Well as far as you're concerned, green is better than ANY colour ;)

I do like green, but I think I'm like glo, I prefer black, makes me look slimmer or something. :D

This is actually what I meant ... not ony do I drink the stuff by the hinged cork bottle full but I fully subscribe to their GLD philosophy ... for some obscure reason ... ... :D

Warning ... STRICTLY for eighteen year olds and above ...

Green Light District

Enjoy the tour ...

:p

Yeah I stumbled across that one the other month Glen, but thought it was far to expensive, and it was 550ish notes for part 1 then the same again for part 2 and so on! Uber amounts of money needed for that!

I've signed up for the OU course.

I did my degree with them and they were fantastic at both support and quality teaching materials. I also did an internet users course with them.....but dropped out it was too tecchy... I didn't want to build a website, just use one!

I've signed up for the OU course.

I am a bit unsure as to what this course would actually get you. I understand that it is in collaboration with the RPS (which I have also looked at joining) but how far would it get you toward an actual qualification if you completed both parts?

Anyone know the answer to this?

Didn't know there was two parts to it!, I only saw part one!

I think you are right Clawz ... this is a very new course so I would anticipate Level 2 at some future date ...

As far as I can tell this course counts as 10 Points towards an OU Undergraduate qualification (BA/BSc Open Degree) ...

EDIT: ... you need 300 points for the Degree qual or 360 for the (Hons) bit ...

Actually, re-reading it there might not be two parts, one starts in May, the other in October. I assumed as they were different prices that they were different courses. How very strange that one is more expensive then the other

I think its that little more expensive as this is the 'traditional' time of year to start school/college/uni that sorta thing. The extra 10 note is prolly to pay the extra staff to cope with the on set of more registrations!
writen on the website said:
Level 1 courses provide core subject knowledge and study skills needed for both higher education and distance learning, to help you to progress to courses at Level 2.

Maybe as the course is new they might start a 2 level one if there's enough interest!

Doing this course with a MAC is very diffecult to set up I believe!

Just seen this, I may well try it - any idea how much time per week it would take?

Damn, they are full for May - been very popular they said :(

I'll look again for October. looking forward to hear what you folks think of it :)

Hi Guys& Gals,
why dont you make enquiries at your local college.
Idid part [1] and part [2] digital imaging with mine, and it may be a
lot cheaper. Certificates are awarded on completion.
Hope this helps.

Didn't do it with Northumberland College did you Dave?

I sooo wanted to do a college course but the trouble with those is theyre only as good as the teacher taking the course!

Its not good if you end up with a teacher as I did on my course, one that despises digital, and enjoys taking the mickey constantly!
I only completed the first half of the course but even so, I stayed longer than most!

I think word of mouth on which colleges are best is definately the way to go rather than just whether you fancy the sound of the course or not ... could save you a few wasted pennies!

Just to re-open this thread... who has actually signed up for the course?

I have and was really wondering if anyone else had? Apparently i have recieved all of the class equipment now to start it come the 1st of May (i'm away on holiday at the moment so i have no idea what or how you start the course yet, but im really looking forward to it!)
