Rofl, if that's art then I know of several very valuable builders waste dumps around here!

Art & The Cleaner

*lip bleeding*  sorry, I shouldn't laugh, all art is subjective but I can't help but think this incident may have improved things, and a box of matches could do even better. :cuckoo:

Have to agree. I could have knocked that up in less than an hour and it would be worthless, the fact that it was built by a "famous" (never heard of him) artist means it's worth over £600k. Some peoples brains need testing I'm afraid.:cuckoo:
Still it's now "worthless" and it is bonfire night, it can still be put to good use, all is not lost.

What a load of rubbish. Wouldn't take much effort to repaint the bowl with some brown paint to look like a bath stain!!

Grayson Perry is right. Too much modern art isn't special.

I worked in a uni art department for a while. There was a pile of stuff in a corner that was actually junk. No-one dared move it for ages just in case it was actually someone's work... when you literally can't tell art from a pile of junk it's time to re-assess your thinking!

I thought it would increase its value, after all its now " an evolving, living installation that has engaged with the viewer"

ps. I've copyrighted that phrase to use on my next **** photo :D

In a similar vein, it was quite fun looking at the poster "art" for next years sports' day - with experts trying to explain the pieces. I was taught that if art needs explaining, it has failed.

What a load of toss. Bit like a woman I heard talking on the radio yesterday about an "art installation" to be carried out next year to coincide with the Olympics. The public are urged to ring any type of bell for 3 minutes at a certain time on a certain day in July. How the ferk is that "art"? And how much are they paying the prat who thought it up?

The cleaner saw it for what it was, a stain. At least she took her job seriously.

There might be a slight problem there :D

Kippenberger was regarded as one of the finest artists of his generation until his death in 1997 aged just 44

Probably from exposure because some git nicked half his roof for some art exhibition...

Artworks are renovated all the time. He wasn't exactly over flowing with talent so I reckon a school child could paint in the missing stain quite easily.

Most of them are utter rubbish. Can't say the ones in the blog are that inspiring either! Sad to see that art today looks like something done by a 5 year old. I could do better. I can't draw or paint but I could have done better than some of those!

I think I shall enter the Turner prize. I'm sure I can find some dessicated cat turds somewhere to stick in a fancy box.

thats the trouble with you bleedin heathens ,,you just dont get it do you ? its art for f sake , thats why all my photos are worth bloody zillions . ( or are they just crap? )

Yv. I thought it might really be YOU needing a cleaner after HIS diapers started leaking due to overfilling...

...and in ref to the Olympic posters released yesterday that to me are about as emotive as a used teabag, I just saw this link on twitter, which I think is much better

talking of which there was an episode a few years ago at the baltic where an instalation inolved some used teabags 'arranged' on the floor arround a table - the cleaners mistook them for litter and threw them away

I may put an offer in now it's worthless, the tumble dryer is broken , it looks like I could hang plenty on that

I actually quite like art like that. Shame to see art like that spoilt :(

does that mean my crap photo's are now art... or do i need to screw them up and toss them at a bin (and then call it art?)

Yep matches and a lick of paint thinner, then you have art

I think you need an art school diploma as well, if not a degree in art.
