Currently wanting to get a DSLR and winning one on eBay (so please no one out bid me )
But with a holiday coming up soon with some mates I'm also after a p&s. I found this one whilst out yesterday and it seems to do everything I need. Does anyone have one or tried one?

Short range the Canon S95 is the togs compact of choice. (£340)
I use a Panasonic Lumix TZ10 as it has a 24-280mm range (£200 but there is a updated version at £223 now) and solved my not being able to afford a P&S and a 18-300mm lens problem.

I haven't used that particular Panasonic, but I loved my wee FX-07 that I used to own. Canon produce some pretty good wee compacts in that price range too, although with that user name you might also want to consider a Sony one

you should check out what http://www.dpreview.com/ before buying, I don't know about normal p&s but in the superzooms you have the sony DSC-HX5 which goes second hand for about £130

So it looks like you are a Sony fan for life...

i used to be as well, until i tried other brands (especially when it comes to A/V). THERE ARE better products than Sony, believe me Read reviews and people's opinions on price comparison sites and you will surely find something in your budget.

Well I like the looks of most of the panasonic lumix's, sonys are nice too!
Not to keen on the canon, nikons etc.

Got a tz3 or 5..... very good and useful.

The latest tz10/tz20 look nice and aren't too large, yet are wide and zoomy where required. Only niggle is image quality isn't brilliant and no raw...
