Hi all, would like to know if anyone uses any online printing companies as i have been looking around and some of the deals seem really good. So far i have been doing my own using CS2 and a Epsom R300 and it costs a more to keep replacing inks and paper.

Many Thanks
Marlhole

Hi Marlhole
Welcome to TPF.

I think youll find that a lot of peeps here use www.photobox.co.uk myself included.

Ive had prints as large as A3 from them and found the quality excellent.
Colab I think is a little more expensive (not used them myself so unsure) but also well rated.

Thanks for the quick replys guys. Will try a search now and check out photobox.

I have used Costco for all my photo's so far and for large batches they are not that bad price wise and I think the quality is excellent, obviously need to be a member and pick them up in store but I uploaded them at 5pm and they were ready to collect at 11am the next day. 171 photo's came to £7.05 including VAT

I use photobox - usally for A3 prints.

I just got this printed:

The print is excellent quality and handled the dark tones of this shot well without losing any detail.

I'm another Photobox user. Find them great value and the turnround is fast.

I have used photobox for the 30 free 6x4 and a big 18"x20" print and they were excellent, the large print is awesome, great print quality, wouldn't hesitate to use them again

photobox here too, had about 700 printed over the last 12 months and had about three problems. Each time they've reprinted free of charge, no questions asked. Service can't be faulted in my opinion.

Not to sound like a broken record, Photobox :)

If you are going to print lots on 6x4's, then buy a load of credits in advance - I bought 600 for some ridiculously low price, all I pay is £1.99 for post and packing each time I order. Had a few pics blown up to 30"x20", fantastic is all I can say....

Photobox users - Do you calibrate to their printers? Would you consider the results professional in quality? Are they backprinted with any information?

Thanks

In reverse order - no backprint
I would consider them to be very professional
They just come out fine for me - didn't have to calibrate any different than I would for home printing.

Smaller stuff certainly backprinted with filename - not sure about the bigger stuff. Up to 15x10 is done on one set of machines and above that on another.

I use Photobox for some stuff but I've had some things come out very dark (and white come out slightly grey). For my more serious stuff, I use Peak Imaging in Sheffield. Very happy with them.

I had to calibrate using their test print, after that things were fine

:agree:

I'm with Mr Grumpybadger in this one.

I've used Photobox on occasion when I needed something quick and vaguely unimportant, but Peak Imaging is much better quality IMO.
