Hi,

Not sure whether this is the right place for this thread (maybe a moderator could move it if it isn't).

Anyway, here goes:

I've been looking around for the last couple of weeks for an online photography course that specialises in the area of photography that interests me most - Landscapes! I've already been on a couple of 'one day' courses covering both digital and landscape photography and am now looking to further my knowledge and skills in this area.

I've not tried an online photography course before and didn't really want to fork out about £500 for an online course that covers everything like the Institute of Photography and the New York Inst of Photography courses etc. Anyway, I've come across an online landscape course from www.schoolofphotography.com which is a little bit more reasonably priced at £120.

Is anyone familiar with this School of Photography based in Ireland and has anyone completed this particular landscape course? Some feedback would be greatly appreciated. :help:

Finally, I know I could possibly buy a few good books for £120 but I'm looking for a bit of a challenge which will hopefully help me develop my photographic skills and where I can also get some feedback.

Thanks

Consider saving your cash and join in with the 2010 Photo52 on TP each week there is a different theme and when you post your resulting photo other 52ers provide feedback, everyone who took part this year has improved massively.

There are also loads of TP meets there is bound to be one near you soon, people are very helpful. Also we've just trialed a new idea of Learn Together Meets where as well as shooting and sharing tips & tricks we sit down at the end of the session and load all images on to a laptop and discuss what's good or what could be improved as a group.

Alternatively feel free to pay me £120 and I'll create a course specially for you :D

Thanks, I wasn't aware of the Photo52 on TP each week. Sounds like a good option!:thumbs::thankyou:

sorry to ask on this thread, where is the 2010 Photo52 info?

Seriously for Landscapes you are better off saving your pennies and keeping an eye out for trips on here. We have had a couple of mega Scottish Highlands trips and I know there are Skye trips and Lake District trips around. What you can learn from the members on here is completely free, just come along when there is something happening :) Bit quiet this time of year but do a quick search for the Skye one.

Should really organise a South Coast one too guys!

All that said on a online is free somewhere on the internet, but its just knowing where to look and what topics. I have hear good things about phototraining4u. Its £22 per month which is good if you dont want the full year. Havn't tried it myself, maybe one day but its recommended by a lot of people.

Lastolite school of photography is free and has loads of videos to look at, tips and tricks and how to use equipment. So check them both out.

The above 2 sites are for Portrait, studio and wedding photography not landscapes... well not yet anyway...

I found the best way is to go on a TP meet near to you...

The South wales gang might have a meet in the Brecon beacons next month if you want to come along...
Keep an eye out in the meeting place threads...
