Hi there. Does anyone know or have and advise about creating a free online photo gallery. I have been looking for ages but not having much look. Want a site that has options for different backgrounds/themes etc. This is my 1st proper post on forum. . . . so a big "ello" to you!

Welcome to TP AtlanticBreakers (nice name, which I assume is related to where you're from I guess).

Though there are a few free gallery type applications such as flikr etc, you will find that you don't have to pay much to get a decent website from a gallery provider such as Zenfolio, Photium etc. Have a lok around at what some members here use and see what it is you want to be able to do.

If you are familiar with PHP and MySQL you could go for the likes of Photopost or Coppermine perhaps, but you'd still need web space and then you'd also need to know how to set it up. Not too technical to do, but still somewhat technical to get it right.

For a little more money (£20/year), you could opt for Zenfolio which provides you with plenty of gallery space, loads of templates, password protected areas, easy categories, uploader tools etc... and you can assign your own domain name to the gallery too if you have one.
