Has anyone bought from these guys before?

Have just bought a Sigma 10-20 wide angle lens from them and just realised they are Hong Kong based. How long did your order take to arrive? I ordered on monday so was wondering when I was likely to receive. Generally would prefer to use a UK based company, but did not realise at the time.

Thank you
:)

I ordered a new lens from Hong Kong on Sunday, not from onestepdigital. I ordered from
URGALAXY. On Monday I received an email from them with a FedEx tracking number,
At 8.56 this morning it was loaded onto the delivery van, to be delivered today before
6pm. Now that's what I call good service.

Be careful - with some companies you may be liable to pay customs and VAT charges. I bought a camera from DigitalRev and this happened. OneStopDigital promise to re-imburse if you're charged, so I'd advise you stick with them unless others provide for this. Still, whenever I've bought from OSD, I've never incurred additional charges.

Just finished posting, when the door bell rang and it's here.

RE Digital REV buy their no VAT or Duty items and they reimburse straight into your bank account.

As with all these companies just be aware of warranty issues.

DR have a UK support no. and can get it back to HK if required almost as quickly as I could get something to a UK centre.

Oh man, i havepaid OSD at least £1000 of my hard earned cash and not once got caught by import tax. THey are very good.
And when my order was out of stock they STILL gave me my reward points and a replacement.

Use them with trust, they are great. (and im not affiliated by the way)

Martin it will probably be with you before the end of the week, I've bought from onestop a couple of times before and service was excellent. If you want more info, search the forums there are many threads about them.

Somebody I know ;) just bought some stuff from Digital Rev and it turned up with the customs label marked as " Gift , value $30" . Not quite what it actually cost......

:D

I have bought a couple of lenses from One Stop Digital which were delivered in double-quick time and I was very impressed. But I ordered a Sigma from them about three weeks ago which was faulty and I have had to return it. It's obviously not their fault that it didn't work but I have had the inconvenience of returning the lens at my expense to HK (they have said they will refund my postage) and am now waiting while they repair it before mailing it back. They have warned me that if there are import charges on its return I will be liable. I would still use OSD because their prices are so much cheaper than UK companies, but had I bought from a company over here, I would probably have my lens by now, without the worry of any extra expense I may incur.

When ordering Sigma stuff from outside the UK, be aware that Sigma's official line is that any warranty claim must be accompanied by not only proof of purchase but also proof of payment of import duty.

That said I sent my OneStopDigital-procured 17-70 in for calibration in December, expecting to have to pay for the pleasure and they did it for free anyway so you may get lucky but don't count on it. Of course you can return it to OneStopDigital for them to have warranty-repaired in HK but you'll have to pay for the shipping.

Well, yesterday I received an email saying the lens had now been despatched coupled with a FedEx tracking number. Popped the number into FedEx website and it says it will be delivered by 12pm tomorrow. Now if it arrives in that short a period, I will be very impressed. :)

You watch it being tracked.
Mine took 1 day to get to Paris then the next day it was at my house.
AMAZING.

Yep my Sigma 10-20mm arrived in two days from OSD without any import duties etc. Third time I have used them now and always been very happy with service. Must admit the warranty issue worries me a little but with the potential saving over UK prices I just feel it justifies the relative small risk factor

I received a Nikon SU-800 from them on saturday. It came very quickly by post. It had a sticker on it for the Customs that said value 31 euros (actual price £158.00). However, the manuals are missing that should have been with it. Everything looks brand new. I have contacted them by e-mail to see where the manuals are. Will let you know how their customer service is about this issue.

Yea - same story. I used them for a Nikkor Micro and it came in 4 days after the order was processed. Excellent service, excellent lens = big savings.

I'm not confident to buy Sigma outside of the UK though as I have had to send one back before. Mine was replaced immediately through WE.

Got a G9 and a Canon 50mm F1.8 from OSD, free postage and took two days via Fed Ex.

Rocking service.

OSG contacted me very quickly regarding the missing manuals. They explained that if the manuals are in English they leave them in but the manuals for the SU-800 were in Chinese. They removed them before shipping. I have managed to download some off the Nikon site so should be fine. I was impressed at how fast they got the SU-800 to me and the quick response to my enquiry. I would use them again.

Chris :)

OSD seems good to me! im looking to buy the sigma 10-20mm and Hoya Super HMC filter, but i was wondering if we get caught by the custom, how much does it charge roughly?

one stop digital will refund your import duty if you are unlucky enough to get stung for it.
I know a few people who have had it refunded immediatly you let them know about it.

Friend of mine bought a 40D form OSD and it was faulty so he sent it back and in the space of one week he had received his first one, sent it back and received his second one. He did have to pay the postage but considering the saving he was getting he was still more than happy to pay this.

Had a problem with a sigma flash from OSD, Sigma UK just asked for the reciept - I couldn't find it so asked OSD and immediately they helped. All sorted out V Quckly

If have to pay tax or duty then OSD will refund on purchases.

Delivery - usually 2 / 3 days

Excellent company to use - and thats from 6 purchases.

Ordered my D80 18-135 kit last Friday and it arrived Monday morning, can't beat that for service:clap:

I have used OSD 3 times before, and found them to be quick and reliable.

I am just in the process of ordering a Sigma 50 -500 and Sigma 150 Macro, and saving over £400 compared to UK prices.

Good to hear some good reviews about these guys.

I'm about to order a Tamron lens from them.

I recently bought a Canon 10-22 from them at a substantial saving over UK prices. I could barely justify the price I paid for it, but there was no way I could have afforded or justified paying the UK price for it.

The lens arrived safely in about 4-5 working days and I was able to track it all the way from Hong Kong, via Paris, then Stansted and then to our local parcel office before delivery. I'd be happy to buy from them in the future.
