I was wondering if anyone has had any dealings with Onestop Digital as their lenes and cameras seem very cheap. I've not hear of them before so just have to be a little careful.

There are several threads on this supplier in the "Shopping and Suppliers" section.

They are fine, however from what I have seen lately their prices appear about the same if not dearer than UK suppliers.

Thanks Martyn there is a thread already running there which is very interesting.

OneStop are completely legit and reliable. They often deliver quicker than UK etailers.

I've only made one purchase with them, but it was fine.

I've used them many a time (last was NOV 09) takes tops of 3 days from order (althou upgrade is available if under a certain price) -my last purchase was held in customs for 24hrs awaiting clearance (the only & only time that was) - but all can be tracked via FedEx online... Found them quicker to deliver than UK seller's..

I'd say buy from them, never had a problem & you even get a discount on your next purchase with a points system (max £5.00 off but still its a discount)...

One minor issue is the warranty - if anything goes wrong you can't get it replaced in the UK, you have to send it back to the country of origin.

I have asked OSD about this in the past - You send it to them and they get it sorted for you if its still under the 12month guarantee that they give on their goods...

im thinking of buying the tamron 17-50mm from onestop, but how come they only supply a 6month warranty for lenses.

onestop get all of my buisness... never had a problem with them. just plain easy to use :)

They used to get all my business, but if Its Canon stuff Kerso on here is now just as good value.

It mentions 6 months on their site - but I have a email from them stating its 12months - As I asked when I brought a Tokina 12-24 f4 lens from them.... (July 2009)

As I mentioned it was in July 2009 that I had asked, but if you want confirmation from the "horses mouth" then the best bet is to contact them.

If you want I can forward a copy of the email I recieved from them...

Used OneStop several times myself and haven't had any problems. In fact I bought a Tamron 17-50 from them about a year ago (now replaced with a 24-105 from ebay).

As Martyn said, there prices dont seem so good at the moment - this is due to exchange rates. So it may be worthwhile having a look around at sourcing equipment from the UK, eg Kerso.

no its ok i'll email them now & see what they have to say.

thanks

No worries Paul, would be intresting to see if they have changed their ways since then, althou I wouldn't have thought so... But you never know...

i will update when i have got a reply from them, i do find it a little strange though that they havnt updated there site regarding the warranty since you got an email from them last year.

they are still quite a bit cheaper than any uk shop at the moment for the tamron so im hoping it is 12 months.

I shouldn't see why it wont be 12months as they are brand new lenses... If they were only for 6months then I would not have thought that they would have got much business...

I used them last year and was very pleased with the price and service.

Pete

I took delivery of my Sigma 150-500 from One Stop and they're based in Hong Kong and legitimate, very good service and cheapest i can see and a whopping £100 less than warehouse express ! the only cost will be a bill from FedEx for about £15 carriage, duty & import tax.

well i got a reply back from them about the warranty & like the site says it is only 6 months warranty on the lenses.

i just assumed every thing bought new came with 12 months.

im glad i asked first before ordering

 I can't believe it... I feel a bit of an idiot - checked the email that I had got from them and it certainly said 12mth warranty.. I can only think that they have changed their policiy since then or that it may be for certain lenses...

I do apologize Paul....

Its only some lens that come with 12.

If you look at some of the canon ones it says it has 12 months international warranty.

Though generally, one month's warranty is usually enough anyway. Things are either not right when they leave the factory, or they'll be fine for years. Not many items develop a fault after 6 months and before 12 months.

no need to apologize steve

I'd still say it is worth checking their prices before buying elsewhere. There are still good deals to be had.

I ordered 4 Hoya Pro 1 digi filters recently. Price comparrisons were:-
Park Cameras £244
Warehouse Exp £210
Clifton Cameras £181
Mifsud £178
OSD £143
Also OSD will ship for free.

THey have the Nikon 50mm F1.8 for £89 - around £14 cheaper than elsewhere - IS this a safe bet ?

If you mean is OSD a safe outfit to deal with then yes, absolutely. Many glowing testaments on here about them.
