Well well well, more news on the Horsemeat scandal by the looks of it. I wont say too much at this point.

A. I need to get my information from a reliable sorce.
B. I dont want to start accusing people just yet and scaring them, let us wait for the investigations.

I guess this was all declared ok by those that know better and we believe it is Beef we are eating :rules: I personaly believe (And I have not read this anywhere  ) is that some people that have a hand in the running of these supermarkets, knew exactly what was going on.
Dont forget where you read it first

In the case of the New England Journal of Medicine, the paper they published has been subject to peer review, which means the methodology of the experiments and many other factors have been checked by independent, unpaid experts in that field of science, who will in turn feedback their thoughts to the editors (many of whom also have scientific backgrounds) on whether the article is suitable for publication.

One of my friends is a research scientist, has been published in various journals (not so much now he is in industry) and is entitled to use Dr in front of his name (not a medical doctor that can prescribe drugs but a person with a PhD). He will tell you, the process of peer review of academic papers is not something that you can bluff, bull.... or buy your way through.

So, you can believe the data outlined in the article has been collected using valid scientific method and you can believe that the way conclusions have been drawn from that data is a rational one. You don't have to accept the conclusions of course - you can argue that the reasoning of the researchers is flawed in some way, or that their experimental method was flawed, but you'd better be able to make credible arguments about what is wrong with it if you want anyone to take you seriously ("take a trip to a dermatology department" or talking about air fresheners do not constitute credible arguments).

That said, for every peer-reviewed paper finding one thing, you can be sure there's another which has satisfied all the same scientific requirements but arrived at the completely opposite conclusions. Just because the science and the methodology is solid, doesn't guarantee that a peer-reviewed paper is right. However, it is one better than you can read from tommy's blog (fictional name, in case someone is called tommy!) about someone who knows someone who knows someone who's proper smart and knows the truth.

not all natural products are good for you either.

Do you wash your clothes in the local river, do you make your own bread, do you not use drugs to cure pain/disease. avoiding non-natural products is just plain dumb TBH.

out of interest do you only eat organic food?

Almost forgot about you.

Do you wash your clothes in the local river.

Can you tell then?

Do you make your own bread.

Funny you should mention that, yes we do, as well as buying decent bread from a bakery. Is there something we should all be aware of doing that then? Please share if there is

Do you not use drugs to cure pain/disease.

I might take something for a headache if it becomes unbearable. Cannot remember the last time I had a cold or Flue  And if I did I would let it take it`s natural course, not based on what is in any medicine. Cannot think of any disease I have suffered with so cannot answer that one.

Scientific DNA testing ordered by the FSA, which the results to can be found on the FSA website. Website by crazy idiotic conspiracy theorist.

Yep, the FSA definitely holds less credibility. :cuckoo:

I do find it funny when people can't accept they are wrong, when every bit of logic shows them to be wrong. And even more funny when they consider what some crazy idiotic conspiracy theorist says to be more reliable than the FSA when it comes to food stuff.

Ahh well, your problem. Don't forget to wear your tin foil hat.

Just keep following the sytem Joe  And to be honest Joe if what I read about officials in Ireland made a routine check on a few hamburgers and found this out, was around January time. Do you honestly think that this is when all of a sudden they started using Horse meat in products? Conspiracy or not my view is that it seems a bit odd.

I suppose I should know better than to believe anything Joanna Blythman thinks then, after all she must be less educated than myself. Just like anything else that the goverment put in place, it`s a frigging shamble.
